Why, what would make it better?  What would make you have worth?

Hi Harmony,

Feelings of worthlessness are common when one is experiencing mental ill health. It is possible, however, to improve feelings of self worth and self esteem. What sorts of things have you already tried to improve this?

The what if questions around whether life will always be like this, or whether there is hope for the future are often depression/anxiety based. I think mental health needs to be tackled from a number of different angles: professional support, medication, support of family/friends, lifestyle changes, acceptance, awareness, and action.

Have you had a lokk at any of the following threads:

SELF HELP TIPS FOR MANAGING DEPRESSION under the depression section of the forums

SELF HELP TIPS FOR MANAGING ANXIETY under the anxiety section

Finding Joy when times are dark

You might find some of the info in these threads useful. Many of us can attest to the fact that feelings of worth and recovery are possible.

AGrace

dear Harmony, it's been 2 days since you have posted, so we are becoming concerned about you, please remember that you won't be criticised on this site, all we want to do is help you, as all of us have been in exactly the same situation as what you are in, and don't be frightened as it can be quite daunting to open up. Geoff.
