Please tell me it will be ok

Have been feeling much better lately.

then today, just woke up and feel anxious and depressed for no reason.

I just want someone to tell me it'll be ok (and mean it). The thought of this happening for the rest of my life is unbearable.

Hi Lookingforpeace

Please to hear that you have been feeling much better and that is something to celebrate. However, life is not all smooth sailing even for those who are fortunate enough not to suffer from depression. 

It would be good if you can learn to accept that sometimes "shit happens". Life cruises along smoothly and then came the blip or in our case the 'fog'. Perhaps, you can reflect on what triggers it? In my case, I may have a restless night sleep, so I woke up feeling 'down'. In such a case, I tried to do is take it easy for the day and when an opportunity arise, I tried to sit 'still' for a few minutes, just to recharge my 'battery'.

I know that this example sounds simplistic but most times (for me) it is as simple as that. 🙂

Like Morning Glory, I would like to say that it’s great to hear that you have been feeling better of late.  All great things to acknowledge and certainly not something to be swept under the carpet either.

 

Then you’ve had a bit of a setback and yes, they do happen – how often and will this continue on for a long time, well, I’m sorry, but I don’t have a crystal ball, but what I can say is, you’ve been having good times recently and that’s what we can dwell on.

 

Sure you’ve had this set-back, but along with what Morning Glory suggested, I’d also like to add, are you able to think and determine just what you’ve been doing of late where you have been feeling better?  Something to possibly work on and to see if you can get back to replicating that again?

dear Lookingforpeace, I don't think that anyone could ever be happy 24/7, but many people do say this, I doubt it very much, either they are hiding their bad days or aren't brave enough to admit it, so are these people to be considered as false.

Even when the PM of this country or the President of USA when asked how are they, it's always 'good', not once do we ever hear them say 'terrible', but when you look at them they go grey so quickly when in office.

When you have been feeling good there has to be a day where you question this or wake up with doubts in your mind, that has to be only natural, but in some way it's good because it keeps us on our toes, and not assume that ever day will be good, but the important issue here is that you realise your circumstances and are able to recover and know that every one has good and bad days, and I have woken up feeling a bit down, but know that you will get better.

It's a short way of having a relapse, in that it only lasts for a day or even just a few hours.

You may not know what you dream of, although some dreams are quite prominent, but some we have no idea of, and dreams can be a bit extorted or out of text, but in an exaggerated way.
