Hi- i am suffering from long term protracted withdrawal and this comes in waves and up and downs. I have the most loving supportive partner and really can find any support for them. Its great that we are supported but how can i make sure my partner is getting support so it doesnt get too much for them?

Hi protracted44,
Thank you so much for sharing this here. We’re so sorry to hear that you've been having a tough time but we thank you for taking the time to join and post within the community. We can hear you’re a really caring partner and your concerns come from such a loving and supportive place, but it’s also a difficult time for yourself. I’m sure we’ll hear from our amazing community soon, but in the meantime, we wanted to share a page with you that might help to speak through with your partner, that might provide them with some support: The Beyond Blue counsellors are here for you if you or your partner would like to talk this through on 1300 22 4636, or via online chat. It is so important that you look after yourself during these times and they can help you, or just be there if you want to talk. If you or your partner become worried at times about harm that could be caused, it’s important to know that you can call 000 as this is an emergency. Thanks again for sharing here. We really appreciate your kindness and openness in sharing on the forums, so we hope you can be kind to yourself also through this time.
Kind regards,
Sophie M

Hi, I've been in withdrawal for 8 months. How long has yours been going on? What symptoms do you have? What drig were you on? If you want to share. It's so lovely that you are wanting to find support for your partner, they go through it with us, it would be so frustrating and difficult for them as well. Hoping you are having a better day today.
