Major Depression

Jarred28
Community Member

Have been diagnosed with major depression for quite some time now and just feel like giving up. Will this ever get any better

My family all call me a sook and that there’s nothing for me to be depressed about and I need to get over myself. I have no friends to talk to this stuff about as they bully me about my mental health and just generally don’t seem to care.

Just so confused in life have no idea what to do, just want to move away and hide forever.

Hey Jarred.

I'm new to BeyondBlue and I just want to say thank you for reaching out.

I relate very much to what you're going through so never feel alone (even which it can seem impossible at times)

Really sorry the way your family is reacting to your situation.. No one can really understand what it truly feels like to live either anxious or depressed unless they experience it for themselves.

Due to my depression (major depressive disorder) I haven't had a job for about 6 years now. It seems soo hard and confronting to do any of that at the moment.

When I'm around people I can become incredibly anxious which causes soo much discomfort and to be really self conscious.

I find myself most relaxed when it's just me in a room alone, of course though.. Then the depression sets in.

It seems like it will just go on forever and ever.

The reason I'm saying all this is to hopefully shine a light that you are not alone in this struggle.

I understand what you're going through.

Let's hope there will be a light at the end of this long tunnel and to find some sense of comfort and peace mind in the future.

I wish you nothing but the best.

Good luck and take care of yourself.
