Hello,
I know there is no perfect job for people like us but I am wondering if anyone out there has found a job that works for them, or at least that they can handle better than another.
I've been out of work for a year and am feeling stuck.
Thanks in advance.

nobodee,
Welcome to the forum and thanks for your interesting thread.
Everyone is different but I found with bipolar I had many jobs that I usually could only handle for a short while.
After I had children I went back to study and worked as a teachers aide. When I qualified as a teacher I did only casual days as that was all I was offered and it suited me.
Over then years ago I was lucky to start my won business a shop and for me this was great. I work every day and I hadn't worked full time for years before that.
I like being my own boss and can have longer or shorter days depending on my moods. I love my job and am finally in control.
thanks again for starting this topic.

Hi, welcome
I've got those disorders
I could never hold down a job with a boss or working with other people or customer service. Shift work interfered with sleep and sleep is important for us.
So then I got my private investigation licence and worked alone. Eventually I ran my own business, a one man outfit. Perfect. I did that for 18 years.

Thank you both for the replies.
I hear you with only being able to handle jobs for a short while. I always start well and then end up going crazy, getting paranoid and miserable.
Running one's own business seems like a common theme. I'll have a think about it. Thank you!
