Hi, I just joined this group. I'm not really a 'forum user' but might become one😆
I'm just feeling like shit, I think it may be depression. I was put on treatment for depression/stress/anxiety a couple of years ago. I think it helped at the time but then I had that 'zombie, can't be bothered doing anything, never feel happy or sad or anything' type of life, so I did the cold turkey . That sucked bad but withina few weeks I felt better. Now I'm just blah, and I don't know why. I've got a gorgeous son, an amazing fiance that loves me, a successful little business. Why aren't I happy?

Hi there PeachieQ
Welcome to Beyond Blue and thank you for coming here and providing your post.
You’ve asked a question that anyone of us on this site would be so keen to have the answer for; cause if you could come up with that answer and also have a possible solution to that, I would say you’d become an overnight millionaire. Why aren’t I happy? Excellent question, not so excellent is the answer. And this is coming from someone who has struggled with this illness for years and years.
I’m gathering by you saying that you went “cold turkey” was just you battling your low feelings and stress by yourself? No formal treatment this time? Do you think it might be worthwhile to get back to your GP to see what they might be able to suggest for you?
Kind regards
Neil

Hi Peachie Q
Wow, that would have been some effort, I’m imagining that you were able to get off the meds as you say “cold turkey”. But that’s now all passed and it’s great to hear that you’re feeling better for not having to take anything.
So the big question is, how do we stop the feeling of ‘meh’ about pretty much everything?
Have you been through the list of things that can help occupy you (um, when you have a spare moment) as I was just re-reading that you’ve got a business, a fiancé and a young son – so I’m imagining that would take up a lot of your hours in your day. Am wondering if your fiancé could take some of his time out to look after your son on some occasions, so you can find some of your own “me” time? Of course, if that’s something that you think might be a good thing.
Kind regards
Neil
