Hi Feelinghopeless!
Thank you for your post and welcome to the beyondblue forum. I am glad that you reached out to us.
The feelings of sick with worry and otherwise unhappy is very much a sign of depression and/or anxiety. I too would feel nauseas before going to work and could not find anything to be happy about.
So you certainly have done the right thing to book in with your GP. Its never an easy step, so you should be congratulated. Your GP may refer you to a psychologist to seek to establish the cause of your illness (if indeed you are diagnosed as such).
Recognising that you may not be well, and taking the step to see a health practitioner, should put you in a very good position to address any possible mental health issues before they take a stronger hold. Well done! You will soon be feeling hopeful!
Please let us know how you went on with the GP! Look forward to hearing from you again.
Take care
K

Hi FH,
Welcome to the Beyond Blue forums, I am happy tho hear you are making a move on this, you are taking steps in your recovery that will surely lead to greater peace and happiness. All the best at your GP, hopefully you can get a referral to a psychologist or a counselor. Remember the BB phone service as well if you get stuck, it's free and 24/7, they are there to help.
Perhaps you could spend some time practicing gratitude each day, being thankful for the things you can be 'happy for', even the challenges. Do you meditate? Meditation has helped me a lot to focus on the positive and off the negative. Decide that you are now on the journey to be better, don't let anything stop you, take satisfaction from knowing that you are on the track, with support you can find some small steps to take each day to get you there. Talk any time, love to you.
