Hi everyone,
I just need answers. I have everything in life. A loving partner. Loving friends. Loving parents. I have a secure job and everything most don’t. But I don’t feel right. I wake up feeling down with no explanation. I feel sad and don’t know why. I hate to be alone. I don’t know why this is happening and I want help 😞

Hi Sunshinecandy
having 'everything' you're supposed to have doesn't keep you immune from sadness or depression. there could be any number of causes - chemical or emotional. I guess you need to start by identifying what is making you feel like this, and a GP can help, or perhaps you can get a referral from a GP to a counsellor. I'm a great advocate of counselling because it has helped me a lot. Going back and facing some traumatic issues from my past and having someone help me work through them has helped me heal - and I didn't even know I was hurt by those things and that they were affecting how I acted in the present.
Do you think there is anything like that you need to work through?
Or are you sure everything you have in your life is what you want, and not what everyone else thinks you should want?
even hearing the news these days can be enough to put me in a down mood for hours. If it helps you are not alone in struggling with feelings things are all just a bit off, or overwhelming.
As I said I'd suggest you talk to a GP first, ask for a referral for counselling. You are entitled to up to 10 medicare rebated psychology appointments a year if you tell a doctor you feel your mental health is suffering, it's called a mental health plan.
feel free to post back more detail. Talking always helps

If venting on here is all you feel you can do right now, vent away. That's what the forums are for.
it's good that you've already narrowed down the problem. If it's a work issue, it might seem like you can't get out of a particular job but there are always ways. It may take time and planning, but you can start any time. Imagining yourself in a different job - what does that look like? Is the problem the people you work with or the actual work? Can you look at working for a different company or do you need to consider further study to switch industries? These are questions you can start asking yourself, and you can start making future plans for how to get out of your current job. It's a start, and might make you feel better, knowing you're not stuck where you are forever and have options..?
Just some thoughts.
GW
