Had enough!

How does everyone cope with all thats going on??

Im now fully vaccinated, do my 3rd daily swabs and now they want me to get a permit to go to work! Im just so over it! I feel like im living in a jail! Or North Korea! Going to need a permit to scratch my bum soon😡

Work really isnt worth it to even get the permit! Why should i turn up when they havent done anything to benefit or help me?! They hear my complaint of harassment and do nothing about it! Im already terrified of going to work there because that person who harassed me is still there, why should i even go! Why should i make things easy for them!

I was supposed to get my covid swab today(friday) but just couldnt gather the energy to make the 2 min drive to my local testing clinic.

My energy levels are usually pretty low to be honestly but the last few days its been so severe i cant even get the energy to make myself lunch. Ill wake up, go down stairs, have something small to eat and then sit on the lounge all day until its dinner time. Even then i struggle to get up.

Just feel like everything is falling apart. Hating work, dont want to go back there ever. Supposed to be back there on sunday but still thinking of a reasonable excuse to call in sick again(i already called in sick for my most recent 2 shifts).

Really struggling with how depressed im feeling this time..

Hi MissJ94

I feel for you so deeply as you struggle through such significant challenges. I imagine you saying to the powers that be 'If you give me just one more challenge, I think I'll lose my mind!'

I've discovered it takes a hell of a lot of energy to work your way through COVID lock downs and COVID related stuff. I actually had no idea about what it takes until I sat down in some semi depressed super angry state thinking 'I've had enough. I feel like I'm losing my mind'. There is so much thinking involved or problem solving. It feels constant, like you just can't get a break outside of sleep. Wondering whether you're finding this to be the case. A lot of the problem solving is anxiety inducing and thoroughly exhausting.

Sounds a bit weird but when I'm in an open frame of mind, I'll meditate on a challenge and see what naturally comes to mind. By the way, impossible to do this when overthinking. What actually came to mind were the words 'Look at what's not there'. Suddenly, a lot started to make sense. Being a Melbourne gal, in our 6th lock down what's not there is

  • A significant leader in the area of mental health who follows the premier's lock down announcements with acknowledgement and coping strategies. Where in hell is the leadership here? So poorly managed, in my opinion
  • Acknowledgement of mismanagement (in certain key areas) from the government. So, this is kind of like 'It's not you, it's us, the reason why you're struggling'. Where is the sense of ownership and responsibility?
  • New ways to cope with various triggers
  • How to constructively perceive challenges
  • How to manage physical and mental exhaustion. How to manage anxiety and depression, naturally and chemically
  • A much needed discussion when it comes to the significant interaction of mind/body/spirit

The list goes on when it comes to what's not there.

With that last one, mind/body/spirit, it may sound a bit woo woo yet it still remains significant. When facing a lack of what naturally lifts your spirits, the mind is challenged while the chemistry in our body shifts, significantly sometimes, without us realising.

A strange question but what would it look like if you let the natural bi*ch in you out at work? Would it look a little like 'If you harass me again, I'll make your life a living hell! C'mon test me, if you have any doubts!'. Personally, I've found people pleasing keeps the bi*ch restrained. Letting her out at times is therapeutic. Also, she can be a natural at setting boundaries.

Hello Dear MissJ94,

Well done for getting fully vaccinated...I get my 2nd “jab” in November....I was a bit afraid of getting my first one done..

There is so much going on in the world today, and it is really hard to comprehend everything that’s going on...

I don’t watch the news, nor the radio news..Facebook I don’t check anymore...since I’ve done these few things I feel much better....

Being bullied in any workplace is unacceptable, maybe Dear MissJ, can you go to a higher authority at work and have a talk to them and let them know what this person is doing to you and how they are making you feel....if they don’t do something to fix the situation, I’m sure you can contact “Fair Work Ombudsman” and talk to them and see if they can help...

Getting a permit to say you have been fully vaccinated is what the government is doing for everyone, which will allow yourself more freedom than those who haven’t been vaccinated...I think it’s a way the government is rewarding those fully vaccinated....The permit will be very useful to you other then just work....

Please talk here anytime you feel up to it lovely MissJ...we are here for you...

My kindest thoughts with my care MissJ...

Grandy..

Hi Miss J,

I'm sorry you're feeling this way but I totally get it! The present restrictions can feel completely oppressive - like we have no freedom and always need to be on high alert. I want you to know that these feelings are normal and that you should not feel guilty for having low energy and low mood.

I find that at the moment a little bit of escapism can help to forget everything that's going on outside. Have you tried watching you favourite childhood movie or getting into a new book? Sometimes switching off from the news/work can really help!

Here to chat, sending lots of love and strength your way!

Hi MissJ94

I am so sorry to hear about what you are going through. It seems as you feel meeting a wall anywhere you turn. It’s really good to hear you got both jabs. I am still waiting for my second. I think things will get worse before they get better. This situation is so extremely unprecedented and most of us will cop it one way or another. I try to think and remember that we are all in this but this not always lifts the mood. Still, it is true.

Hang in there darl...
