Every now and then, along comes an article that blows your mind and makes incredible sense. The one I'm refering to is just what I needed to explain the modern day depression in some of us.
So please google the following:
depression is not a disease but an indication that consciousness needs to change
Open for discussion.

Tony you mentioned someone denouncing "stress" as an illness. In fact stress is a normal part of human life. The issue isn't stress as a general term but rather how much stress, the type of stress & how we handle it that matters. Too much stress particularly if you are unable to deal with it definitely leads to illness. I will liken it to building levees on a river bank to stop a flood. If our levees are built strongly & high enough they will hold but if there is too much water (stress) they break or overflow. If a flood comes again soon after we may not have the resources to strengthen the levee effectively the next time so it gives way more easily. In the same way if we are feeling down our ability to deal with stress diminishes rapidly escalating the problem.
One of my biggest triggers is tiredness. The other is frustration when I can't get things done that I need to do. This leads to feelings of failure, low self esteem etc. I'm currently trying to manage both by taking regular breaks & taking my mind off the task I'm trying to achieve to stop the negative thoughts. I'm having limited success but at least I'm trying.

Hi JessF, nice to talk again
Re: "I've found that the older I get, analysis becomes paralysis" love that! You are so right.
Elizabeth.
Mr Zemanik said thete was no such thing as stress, that it didnt exist. He was a shock jock so he might have been planting seeds for bites.
Yes I take your point.
Ive noticed in myself that cycle by which you describe. Prior to buying my cpap I was always tired. I put it down to shift work years earlier. (Topic: a good nights deep sleep- beyondblue ) but also in the last year or so I'm finally limiting my gardening or shed stuff to 3 hours a day. That helps.
You are pushing yourself physically more than usual. Frustration similar in men too, we tend to move mountains to move THAT ROCK!
Now it can wait till tomorrow.
Tony WK
