Feeling very isolated and bored at home

I am currently on disability and am at home most of the day.

I do have friends but they are a long way away.

I have tried to go to the library and do other things but can't seem to find anything to distract or occupy myself.

My medication is giving me brain fog and I keep drooling but not sure what I can do about that.

I am sleeping but not sure if straight through and I keep going to bed so early I wake up early.

I just want something to look forward to so I don't feel like I am wasting my time.

Hi Tim1976,

Welcome to the forums.

I'm wondering if you can tell us what disability you have? Of course you don't have to disclose this but it would help give us an idea of what your limitations might be and how we can work around that.

What sorts of things are you interested in?

There are lots of different things that you could consider; anything from arts (like drawing, painting), music, language, photography, cooking, sports - honestly the list could take forever! Or perhaps you may want to consider taking up a course, part-time employment (you can work from home), or volunteering? There are lots of options it's just about what interests you.

Here's a list of ideas that can be enjoyable; maybe you could pick and choose what you like and go from there -

I am being treated for anxiety which was going well until recently when I had a major depressive episode.

The form I had to take to Centrelink said Schizophrenia on it but I do not have an official diagnosis.

I am interested in photography but it means I have to go out late, which I did not manage to do well at all last time I tried it.

I have limited funds at the moment so I can't really afford a course at the moment.

Thanks,
