Feeling Nothing

Hi All

Just need to get this out of my head. I recently had my best friend end our friendship of many years. I was beside myself for the last 5 days but now I just feel nothing about anything. To the point where I feel I need to try anything to feel a feeling besides this nothing. I know that I was very upset but now I just feel like a robot doing what needs to be done. I could care less if it gets done or not. Has anyone else experience this nothing feeling? What did you do?

hello, when you lose someone who you always felt close to your heart by ending the friendship it does leave a huge whole that you believe will never be filled, that can be true at the present time, but there could be a specific reason why it happened which you are unaware of, and which she has never told you, because even friends can be scared to tell their best friend something in particular because of their antipicated reaction that may come from you.
I wonder if they told you why the friendship was ending because there maybe a way around getting it back.
What I am saying is perhaps a hopeful way around this, but if you know that it has ended and that there is no way to get it back, then we have to try and find a way around this to help you.
Friendships come and go through our life, our greatest friends at school always say 'we must get in touch' and we expect this to happen but it doesn't because we move into uni, work and then develop other friends, where we form a close friendship with one of them, but along with this there are other friends who we see every now and then when our closest friend goes we attach ourselves to one of other friends who we see every now and then.
It is heartbreaking but allow yourself to find grieve and feel let down, but as hard as it is you will meet other people. Geoff.

Hi Geoff

Thankyou very much for replying, it truly means a lot that there are people out there that care. She did tell me why. But nothing is ever just one one thing but it was mostly work related. There was hurt feelings on both sides. I could have been a better friend, but then I also know it is not 100% on my shoulders. I tried for the past month to be able to sit down with her to talk it out. Thinking surely we are adults but I was avoided and considering I work out of town I thought she maybe able to make a small effort to make some time. However, she waited until I was alone without support to attack me over messages. Saying I dont support her, this couldn't be further from the truth. I still love and respect her. I told her this and how I was sorry in what part I played. But it didn't get through to her. I know her well enough to know when she makes her mind up, thats it. She hasn't taken any responsibility for the problems she caused. And its too raw atm to let her know where it went wrong from my perspective. Anyway thank you for listening.

Kind regards
