MJL
Welcome to the forum and thanks for reaching out.
Your metaphor of quicksand is a very relatable one and I hope that your post here will give you something to hold on to.
When you write that you go in and out of depression, how frequent is that?
The feeling of sinking further and further into depression can be overwhelming especially it it is late at night and you feel alone.
In your post you have comnveted very clearly how you feel but I can see you feel confused as to how you feel and so can’t reach out to loved ones.
I am glad you have reached out here. Yiu are not alone. This is a very supportive place.
Feel free to post here as often as you want to.
Quirky

Hi MJL,
Just came across your post and wanted to see how you were going today and if you were able to step out of the heavy sand that you describe as depression? I am sorry to hear that you are hurting so much and feel unable to talk with those close to you at the moment. That must be so frustrating. You have started talking on the forum which is a great step towards healing.
Please reach out and let us know how you are going. There is a lot of support here on the forum and all around - we are listening. Hi MJL
Quirky and Nurse Jenn have provided noteworthy support for you above
I understand your feelings as I used to have clinical depression and yes it can be like being in quicksand for sure...It is a dark place to be in MJL. Just a note...the forums are a safe and non judgemental place for you to post or ask any questions that you may have
I really hope you can post back for a chat (if you wish to that is)
please be gentle to yourself in this difficult time
Paul
