Hi there,
I have not heard of Environmental Depression before. Could you please explain what that is and how it affects you?
Years ago some people said they were allergic to the modern world. Is it a bit like that?
I guess depression of any sort may have the same fundamentals, maybe Environmental depression just adds extra dimensions to the depression.
There is a lot of information available here on this forum for depression in general. Maybe you could have a read of some of that and find a few strategies that may help you.
It will be interesting to learn more about this type of depression and how you are diagnosed with it.
Hope you get back to us. Cheers for now from Mrs. Dools

Hello Environment
Welcome to The Forums
I think you mean the environment in which you live....family etc? If you could provide some additional details as too your symptoms/severity of your depression we will be able to assist you more effectively.
Kind Thoughts

Hi there,
I'm not quite sure what environmental depression is either but I would be assuming that it is depression that results from the environment you're situated in. As for help, go and find yourself a bulk billing GP and get a mental health plan which gives you 10 free sessions with a psychologist. Also, there are heaps of good free resources you can access. The beyondblue phone line (1300 22 4636) is open 24/7 and there is a really good resource called the Mindspot Clinic. They do an online/telephone evaluation of you and provide continual remote support.
Also check out https://www.beyondblue.org.au/get-support/national-help-lines-and-websites. All the best Australian resources are listed but I would recommend giving mindspot a ring.

Hi!
I can relate, my form of depression is environmental as well!
From my understanding, this type of depression is caused by bad or traumatic experiences rather than a chemical imbalance in the brain, which is what some people's are caused by.
Mine is caused by living with an incredibly restricting physical disability. It affects my relationships with people and my participation in everyday activities.
Hope this helped =D
