Does BB create a " I am depression' add???

HI

The " I am anxiety' add hits it on the head. Well done. Now I am hoping that " I am depression' and " I am bipolar will follow.

Unless people will see/comprehend  how it feels having those illnesses people wont go to the docs.

I only went after stumbling on BB's website realising that I am sick......

dear Beetle, I totally agree with you, it's good that they have changed this logon site, but anxiety isn't the 'be all' of depression, I just wonder how their costs fit into this equation, so we will have to wait until Christopher gets back on tuesday. Geoff.

Hi Beetle, glad the 'I Am Anxiety' ads helped spur you to some action. We've had many emails come through with similar stories, which is great to hear; a lot of people don't realise that those horrible feelings and symptoms are actually something that has a name and can be treated.

I'm talking with our team in here at the moment to get an answer together for you (and Geoff) about what campaigns we have coming up this year.  We have done quite a bit on depression in various forms since beyondblue started, but I'll let you know more once I have some info.

OK, sorry about the length of time to get back on this one.

The short answer is no, we don't have anything planned at the moment along the lines of what you've described.

There is quite a lot on the agenda for this year, though, not the least of which is the national roadshow which is aimed at taking a step beyond awareness-raising and encouraging people and communities to take action around their mental health: http://www.beyondblue.org.au/get-involved/take1step

For a broader idea of some of the things on the agenda this year, there is a column that our chairman Jeff Kennett wrote for the Herald Sun before Christmas that is worth a look:  http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/opinion/heres-to-making-next-year-one-of-wellbeing/story-fni0ffsx-1...

If you're not already a member, I'd encourage you to join our blueVoices group, this gives you access to an extra section on the website (including another set of forums) where you can share ideas about what work you'd like to see us doing. There's more information on blueVoices and how to join up here: http://www.beyondblue.org.au/get-involved/bluevoices
