I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression about 7years ago. In recent my depression has gotten really bad and is affecting every part of my life. I feel very alone and don't know how to express my thoughts. I also find it difficult to talk to people and have recently pushed alot of my close friends. I know I need help but am scared to reach out. I don't know what to do.

Hello Dear 1402,

A warm and caring welcome to the forums…

I am so sorry your depression has gotten worse, depression is an illness like any other, which mostly needs professionals to help you to manage your daily life better..

It is scary to reach out for help, you have done this here on these forums, which can take a lot of courage..Well done…I reached out here first 6 years ago and haven’t looked back…

One of the first things I done was to take the gentle advice by community members to talk to my Dr…and talk to her about how I was feeling and thinking, then she put me on a mental health care plan, with professionals to help teach me about different ways to manage it….

Most was by distraction and talk therapy with my psychologist…I would like to gentle urge you to make an appointment with your Dr…and talk out your fears, feelings and thoughts to your Dr/GP….

Depression unfortunately does make us push our friends and family away, because of the way depression makes us feel and think….most people who haven’t struggled with depression/anxiety don’t understand the way it makes us feel…which makes it harder for us to talk to them about it, Drs, do mostly understand and will help us the best they can…

My kindest thoughts Dear 1402,

Grandy..
