Help me, I have had depression for 13yrs, have taken an antidepressant for about the last 7 and the Friday (a week ago) I had a bit of a stressful day work related but forgot to take my medication, the next day I felt a bit off and took my tablet after work but started to have an anxiety attack then from then on I have felt yuck on and off ever since, I can eat without throwing up but don't have much of an appetite. Sometimes I'd feel ok but then get this warm rush through my body and start feeling sick again. Mornings I start feeling weak in the muscles and stuff and my heart feels like it's racing. Went to the doctor on the Wednesday and told me to try to have 1 n 1/2 tablets but don't feel much different and had 2 tablets this morning I had woken up at 2am and when I started at 5 I didn't feel too good had a 5min rest and finished my shift. Been on and off, not too good at the moment had a bit of a nap. I hear people start having a tolerance to anti depressants and no longer start to work. I feel they don't have much effect at the moment. The doctor told me to go back if im not getting any better but because of Christmas coming I don't think I can do it at the moment.
also wondering if vitamin b tablets would help and ok to take with anti depressants?

dear Mel, welcome to BB and thanks for posting your comment.
Firstly can I say is that Vitamen B is totally OK taking with AD, just as Vitamen D even though we get sunlight, but sometimes it's not enough, but don't over spent on all these Vitamen pills, although it might have a psychological effect on making you feel better, but that's only temporary.
I have to admit that those two Vitamen tablets I have been taking for a long time so they won't do any harm at all.
Forgetting to take an AD does happen especially if you have taken them for a long time, but you soon realise because you fall into a hole.
There could be a chance that this AD has little or no effect on you any more, and you can tell if this is the case by how you have felt before this or the 7 years you have been taking it, and now it's not doing it's job.
The main problem is that you have to dry out before you start another one, although your doctor should be able to give you some other medication which could lessen the withdrawals, but you would have to speak to them.
If you can't go and see your doctor then ring him/her and see what they have to say, but it's important that you try and do this as Xmas can be an awful time for many people.
Please let us know what you think. Geoff.

dear Mel, when I have run out of tablets (AD) it will only take that one day for me to fall back into depression, but as soon as I take it within a short time I'm back to feeling much better.
When you increase your AD's it won't take too long before they will have an effect on you, that is if they are working.
Let us know how you get on. L Geoff. x

Hey Geoff,
last few days I have been feeling better, been taking the 1 1/2 tablets a day. Still not 100% tho. Today I have been feeling slightly funny on and off. Dunno whether it's just the work at the moment. But gunna see how I truck along with the 1 1/2 tablets till the new year. Maybe I might see my doctor about taking two tablets if I still don't feel 100%. And if not then I migt have to look at new tablets altogether.

dear Mel, sorry you asked me a question awhile ago and I didn't reply back to you so I apologise for this, but to answer your question which you may have done already, is that sugar is bad for depression, just like it is for kids who like all the wonderful lollies and drinks full of sugar, just as Jess has said.
Also google the bad foods and drinks as you have done the good foods, but please you have to realise that everybody is different.
Are you still taking the 1 and 1/2 mg of AD's. L Geoff. x
