Depression/anxiety. Feeling so lost.

Hi. I’ve been taking an antidepressant for two years to manage my anxiety and depression. I’ve recently stopped taking it as I want to change meds and I’m kinda suffering really bad. I’m currently taking another medication until my doctor prescribed me another med to take.

basically, just feeling really depressed at the moment and struggling with my anxiety. I can’t help but feel alone and helpless. I don’t know what to do. I’m stuck. I’m lost. I was going to call 000 for help as I didn’t know who to go to or where to go. I live with my husband and two dogs. Almost an hour away from my mum, dad and siblings. I feel isolated and alone. I can’t cope. I just needed to let it out. I’ve got other issues going on too at the moment. I’m just very overwhelmed and everything is too much. I can’t cope.

I am so sorry that you are going through anxiety and depression and that you feel so alone. Being 1hr away from your family must be really hard too. The thoughts and feelings can be so overwhelming and disabling. I know as I have been going through this for many years now.

I am not sure how you feel about this, but have you maybe tried talking to your husband about how you feel? Or a close friend or even calling your family if you feel comfortable talking to them. Even though it doesn’t change the situation, i think it can be very helpful letting your thoughts and feelings out to someone who will listen without judgement.

I am glad you saw your GP about meds. Have you also seen a psychologist? I believe the right one can give you tools and strategies to use when you are going through these events.

I wish I could help you but I feel pretty much the same and have no other advice than the above. I hope you feel better soon.
