Hello this is my first time,
I am in my late 50's and I have depression anxiety and ADHD. It was a shock being diagnosed with ADHD a couple of years ago. It hit me regarding my life around family and friends and emplyment. I have had so many jobs and medical issues. After being diagnosed with ADHD, I was born with this as my specialist doctor revealed. I was prescribed medications to help with my condition some worked and some did not. Then I started reading books about it. As I was reading books it was like I was reading my past, it was a real shock to my mind. I had alot of therapy and group sessions helping with my condition.
This is why I had trouble having friends and stay in employment and socialising. I have tried an transport jobs it took me a while to work out what I needed to do. I gave myself time to think and I went back to my roots and worked out doors commercial mowing.

Dear Paul166~
I'd like to welcme you here to the Forum, I think if you did a search here (use the spyglass at the top of the page) you would find htere are an awful lot of people with that condition.
I found when I read up on my conditions (PTSD/anxiety/depression) it made a world of difference, explaining it was not realy me, but the conditions I had that made me behave as I did. Frankly it was a great relief.
I am so sorry you were not diagnosed a lot earlier , it might have made you life so much better, not having to worry why others got on better, could work out driving routs quicker and so on.
No doubt it would have had an influence on your anxiety and depression, the same as me.
I'm very glad you have had the wisdom to go back to basics and do lawns, even if the pay is not great I'm hoping you will feel happier and more content.
Do you mind if I ask you if you have anyone in your life to support you, a family member or friend perhaps? It can make things easier.
You know you will be welcome here anytime

Hi Croix,
Thank you for replying and reading my forum.
I am doing ok now with my anxiety and depression I do have high and low days, medication is a good help. I have more trouble with my ADHD as it does affect my life. I am medicated for this.
I have had good support from my medical practioners, family members and at work. But I had to think for myself and stop and take a bit of time by myself to slow my mind down so I can think properly, by getting back in the zone.
The other thing makes it better is I think what is infront of me and not to look back in the past. I have discussed this in counselling sessions.
Are you doing better with your diagnosise, are you working and getting support from family.

Dear Paul166~
You sound very sensible. It's true support is needed, however it does have to be on your terms, and if it goes too fast then being able to slow down to the pace you need is exactly right.
So is thinking of the future, when, even though you might have ups and downs, is going to be better now you recognize how you think and the types of occupations that lend themselves to this.
Thanks for asking about me, my own situation is improving, I"m lucky to have a supportive partner and also an understanding psychiatrist. Like oyu I'm gaining more idea of how my mind works and can anticipate most triggers.
