I am writing this because I find it difficult to explain everything I have experienced verbally. There have been so many events over the years that I feel I have carried a lot of pain without having enough opportunity to properly process it. I want my counsellor to understand the history behind how I am feeling now, including my IVF journey, pregnancy losses, the loss of my son, my medical complications, my recent premature birth and NICU experience, and the difficulties I have experienced in my marriage.

So sorry you are going through that, i know the difficulty of carrying alot of pain but talking to an independant person outside of the situation does help even if briefly.
If you aren't cmfortable with your counsellor or don't think they are taking it seriously, find another one.
I've encountered a few that are just writing notes but not really listening then palm you off to another service, on the flipside the first 2 therapists i spoke to 1 was just a volunteer in the hospital they were awesome i felt completely heard and they got it.
If you don't know what to bring up, which i get especially if you have alot of things. just start with an overview for them then cover a few things a session or write down notes so you don't get lost in your own thoughts.
