Hi
Having a hard day today, feeling very depressed and low really low.
Nothing I can think of has triggered my mood, I just woke up thismorning in a state of depression and haven't been able to pull myself up. Its alot easier said than done. Im also feeling anxious.
My mind is at war with itself, everything seems muffled. I also feel very confused, my thoughts are all over the place. Its as if everythings moving along and Im just watching.
Ive been doing my mindfullness and my controlled breathing, its better than nothing. My Doctors seem happy with me at the moment, shame Im not happy with myself. I also keep a daily journal which I find very helpful.
Anyway I just needed to vent, thanx BB
Annie

Sorry to hear that you're having a hard day and feeling that way. Not sorry to see that you have posted on the Beyond Blue forums to communicate and let people know how you're feeling 🙂
I only recently joined Beyond Blue and became active on the forums. Prior to that, I went through many stages of depression over a period of 12 years and know all to well that feeling of not wanting to wake up and not knowing what has triggered your mood. Depression has that ability to just creep up on you when you least expect it.
If you don't mind me asking how long have you been keeping a journal for? My girlfriend keeps journals too and absolutely loves writing. In fact she is always down at the State Library here in Melbourne. I've been contemplating getting a journal for myself.
Would love to get some ideas from you on how to start/what topics to begin with when starting a journal if your happy to shed some ideas?
Hope you're are feeling better and thanks for reaching out 🙂
Regards,
Raman.

Hi Raman
Thank you for your reply.
Ive been keeping a daily journal for about 5 years now, I dont necessarily have topics as such, but the way I write in my journal is as if Im speaking to a therapist just really being open with my feelings and theres something very relaxing writing this way and theres nothing better than writing. I keep all my journals in a special place and quite often look back over them for strength.
Buy a nice notebook or journal with nice paper grab yourself a nice pen and just start having a conversation, its such an uplifting feeling and its very rewarding.
Sometimes writing things down can be problem solving as well.
Im sure your girlfriend would agree about writing, its great.
Take Care
Annie
