Every day is a struggle atm, I am still taking my meds, going to work and putting on a brave face. I can't tell my family what is really going on inside my head and my body but I really feel like I'm slowly drowning and I don't know how much more I can take. I don't want my kids to see me failing again.
I have made an appointment with my GP but I cant see her until the end of May. I m not sure if I should increase my meds myself of try to battle on until I see her.
I wish it would just all go away!

Hey Kaz,
I'm sorry to hear you are struggling so much. It sounds really hard on you each day just to continue to work and keep a brave face for your family.
Sadly these things don't just go away on their own. But that doesn't mean they won't go away with a little bit of help.
Perhaps this is the time to let yourself put down some of those defences a bit and speak to your family. It doesn't have to be your kids - is there someone else in your family who would lend an ear? I am sure they would want to help even if they didn't know how.
If no-one in your family, then you can also give BeyondBlue a call on 1300 22 4636. The people on the line are very supportive and will listen to your story and what you have to say.
Otherwise, I am a little bit worried that your GP appointment is so far away. Can you see any one else in the meantime if they are part of a wider practice? It is important that you don't change your medication until you speak to your GP about it because changes to our medication can cause a lot of side effects including worsening mood.
I hope you feel comfortable replying here. We would love to help you out.
James

Hi Kaz
Welcome to the forums and thanks for posting too!
James has great advice above and especially about how far ahead your appointment is with your GP
That seems like a long way off.
I have had depression for years and see my GP within a week of calling.
If you are in a country area I can understand a long wait......can you see another GP in the meantime so you can get the help you deserve?
you are not alone here Kaz...Ive been on meds for 21 years and understand where you are coming from
please post back when convenient and let us know your thoughts
my kindest
Paul

Thank you for your advice. I am feeling slightly better today so I was able to make an appointment to see another doctor for tomorrow. I didn't really want to have to see someone else because it is so tiring having to explain how I have been feeling all over again. Thanks again for listening.
Kaz
