Hi Cherie, glad u found this space helpful
I agree u never know who will relate to Ur words and often I read things that articulate how I'm feeling.
Bad is getting a lot of attention these days in media and in the medical world.
If u wanted to explore that diagnosis there are some good psychiatrists who specialise in it. Take care and welcome x

Hi Cherie
Im so glad you stopped by. Thank you so much for sharing!
Firstly, I'm sorry about your experience of being prescribed meds and told to cheer up. There are some truly unhelpful professionals out there. But there are also some really good ones. Have you considered trying to find someone new? I recently found a new GP and it has made such a difference!
The things you shared about over reacting and lashing out sound very much like me. I know when I was first diagnosed and learnt more about BPD, those kinds of things plus so many other parts of my life (like rigid black and white views of everything, self harm, thoughts of suicide, really unstable relationships that I tend to sabotage and so many other things) finally made sense. I know a diagnosis isn't for everyone but for me it has really helped me understand myself a bit more and also helped direct me to the right kind of support for the future.
Maybe you could try and find a psychologist or psychiatrist to speak to about your experiences and see what they think? Feel free to share more here if you like. Everyone here is really supportive and understanding!

Hey Gem17,
I'm sorry to hear 2021 ended on such a low note for you. It's such a tough time of the year and I understand you felt really overwhelmed.
Just wanted to check in and see how the year has started for you. Please don't feel you need to respond if you're not up to it yet, but just letting you know we're still here for you.

Hi James1
Thank you for checking in. It really means a lot! 2022 has been pretty tough so far. I feel like I'm really having to fight hard to try and access the support that I know I need which is something I find quite difficult and overwhelming. Luckily my GP now seems to be on the same page as me and things seem to slowly be falling into place so hopefully things will start looking up a bit.
I hope your start to 2022 has been alright!

Hey Gem17,
Thanks, it's been okay. Been very busy which I don't really like, so I'm hoping it quietens down a bit. Sorry to hear you are having to fight hard to get the support you need; it's so frustrating when we need to fight for that, when everything else is already so hard to manage. But I'm glad to hear your GP is on the same page as you, so hopefully that continues through the year!
Take care for now, and do let us know how you're going if you ever want to speak to someone.
James
