Would love to know if anyone has read any books that helped them while severely depressed?

Hello HM83

Welcome to the forums and good on you for having the courage to post too!

I have had chronic anxiety from when I was 23 to my mid 30's and then depression kicked in. I have always read the books from Dr Claire Weekes as she was a psychiatrist who suffered from this debilitating illness. I hope the link below is of some help for you

If you ever need to chat or have a vent the forums are a rock solid safe place for you to post. The forums are also a judgemental free zone too 🙂

You are not alone where depression/anxiety is concerned.

Hey hm83,

Welcome to the forums!

Total book nerd here!

Hmm... here are the ones that came to mind

- Hyperbole and a half by Allie Brosh (it's a comic book but it had to go on the list)

- If you feel too much by Jamie Tworkowski

- Reasons to stay alive by Matt Haig

Oh - and I'm also planning to read Mans' search for meaning by Viktor Frankl; I've heard really good things about this one.

Hope this helps 🙂
