not really sure where to put this. I just feel bad for burdening others with my problems and I struggle with asking for help because my struggles don't feel bad enough even though people I am close with says it is. In some ways I do not want to get better just something else I have failed, is that weird?

welcome to the forum. Your struggles are valid and can’t be compared to others. This is a supportive non judgemental place to express freely one’s thoughts.
have you asked for help.. I can understand you feel confused. You have not failed and I am glad that people close with you realise you are struggling.

Hi Tamrby,
It is absolutely okay to ask for help. Asking for help is not a burden, it's a natural human tendency. We all have this dilemma whether to ask for help or not especially when we are facing challenges in life, so you are not alone and definitely you have not failed.
Showing vulnerability is not a weakness, it's a sign of strength and self-awareness. Seeking help from others especially if it's family, trusted friend or professional counselor will give you a fresh perspective on the situation and open up new possibilities.
Looks like you have already opened up to someone close and they understand how you feel. Please keep reaching out to whoever you trust, as your feelings and struggles are as important as anyone else.
There is no good/bad or big/small, every struggle is unique and can be challenging in its own way.
Everyone needs help sometimes, and remember you are valuable and worthy of love and support.
I am here to listen and help in whatever way I can...
Take care
