The sports desk

I'm a big sports fan (of the armchair kind) and find that watching sport on tele is a good way to distract myself when I'm down and dwelling on things or if my mind is racing. This time of year it's cricket, with tennis coming up. And Christmas, oh! Boxing Day test, Sydney to Hobart. Love it. Then the Aussie Open around Australia Day. Then the start of the motor racing year, then the footy season (league and rugby for me), the Tour de France, Wimbledon, Formula 1. Sigh.

Any other sports tragics out there? Looking forward to the Oz/ New Zealand test tomorrow!

Hi Sherie,

The woman's T20 wasn't on free-to-air which was disappointing (& discriminatory). We lost anyway. Hubby has cooled down about his league team losing. He's consoling himself watching Sam Stosur's progress at some Polish tennis event. That's bound to lead him to disappointment as she never seems to live up to his wishes for her.

He's getting really excited re his hip operation. Only 5 days to go. Our neighbour teases him because he's likely to wake up to feeling a great deal of pain. Hopefully it will be only onwards & upwards afterwards. We can start going out again instead of being confined to home.

cheers, Lyn.

you should try The tour DE France in July 3-1/2 weeks of cycling. every day. not only do you get good racing you get lovely scenery of France as well.

Whoo-hoo! I have a happy husband - Parramatta won!!!!

I'm so pleased for your hubby Lyn. Unfortunately his team won against my team the Raiders. So I'm not so happy. The Sydney Swans won yesterday afternoon though, so at least I got one of my teams up.

Have you been watching the Australian Swimming Championships/Olympic Qualifying?

Hubby's hip op coming up soon. Ha ha, just read that back, it sounds pretty funky! Anyway I meant that he has his hip replacement op coming up later this week. Is it Thursday?

Sherie xx
