I'm a big sports fan (of the armchair kind) and find that watching sport on tele is a good way to distract myself when I'm down and dwelling on things or if my mind is racing. This time of year it's cricket, with tennis coming up. And Christmas, oh! Boxing Day test, Sydney to Hobart. Love it. Then the Aussie Open around Australia Day. Then the start of the motor racing year, then the footy season (league and rugby for me), the Tour de France, Wimbledon, Formula 1. Sigh.
Any other sports tragics out there? Looking forward to the Oz/ New Zealand test tomorrow!

Yes, I agree Kaz. But alas, Roger has lost the first set already, and is not really looking up to scratch so far.
I hope Roger can turn it around, but I think not. It could be the last we see of him here in Australia. Certainly he is in the twilight of his career, and its rumoured he will retire before long.
I would love to see Raonic beat Murray tomorrow, as I dont like Murray at all. He's a bad tempered little Scot.

Yeah, much as I'd have loved to see Federer win, tonight Djokovic was just too good.
I would love to see Raonic beat Andy Murray in the 2nd semi, and go on to play The Joker in the final.

Hi Kaz,
Did you watch the Tennis or the Cricket last night? I was watching both, but soon lost interest in the T20 cricket. I think its bad that they are not playing their best team. They are resting some players and not even selecting the best available. Then there are the injuries to our best bowlers. I just feel they are not taking it seriously. I am surprised that so many people turn up to watch what is really a very sub-standard series. Especially when all the stars (eg Warner, Smith, Starc, Cummins, Kawhaja) that everyone goes to see are not even playing. Anyway they lost their 2nd T20 against India, and never really seemed to be in it.
Oh, I was soooo disappointed for Milos Raonic in his semi against Andy Murray. His abductor injury at around the end of the 3rd set very obviously hampered his movement and serving in the 4th and 5th set. He'd been playing so well up until then. Now the bad tempered, screaming Scot, Andy now goes through to play The Joker in the final tomorrow. Go Djokavic............

Hi Kaz,
Just thought I'd resurrect your Sports thread. Its been languishing since January, lost and forgotten.
So the footy season is once again back in full swing, and the T20 World Cup of Cricket is on over in India.
The Aussies are playing right now against Pakistan. Is anybody watching the game? Its on Fox Sports 3 or free to air Channel GEM. The Aussies are batting. And to stay in the running to get through to the next round, they need to win. NZ who are in the same group as Aust, are already through.
No AFL played today, but the NRL has played one game already (Bulldogs bt the Easter Bunnies) and Bris vs Nth Qld is on now.

Hi All,
My husband watches a lot of sport on t.v. Lately I have been doing some colouring while he is watching the sport.
I do enjoy some of the different sports he watches. We both enjoy the summer and winter Olympics and try to watch quite a bit of that when they are on.
Has anyone been watching any of the Women's T 20 from India? The Aussie girls have had a bit of a mixed time of things this tournament.
Last night we flicked from men's cricket to the ladies, to rugby, we watched some AFL so I am not sure if that was live or not and there was a soccer match in Adelaide as well. Maybe the AFL was on Thursday!
Hope you are all having a great weekend.
Here is a question, what is the most obscure sport you have watched live or on t.v.?
We watched some pole tossing event from Scotland on t.v. once.
We also find the wood chopping exciting. Do you call that a sport?
Cheers all from Mrs. Dools

ha ha, Smith does look very young. But he's a pretty clever young fella.
He's pushing along nicely towards his 50 now. Maxwell just out, and Watson in. Must be esp after reading my prev post. Now it really is Watson and Smith to see them through.
