Hi everyone,
I was sitting here with a cup of tea and a biscuit, and it got me thinking about how much a simple bit of food can lift the spirits, even just for a few minutes.
I wanted to start a lighthearted chat about your ultimate "Comfort Foods."
For me, if I’m having a rough week, nothing beats hot chips from a local charcoal chicken shop (with way too much chicken salt!). But I also have a soft spot for a classic jam and cream scone if I’m feeling nostalgic.
I’d love to know what yours are!

Hi
For me, it’s vanilla ice cream with maple syrup on top.
Takes me back to childhood memories of visiting the sugarbush and collecting sap from the trees to make maple syrup. Walking on horseshoes through the snow, the air so crisp and fresh, and ending up sitting before a fire to thaw out.
Memories of another time and place that I cherish.
Kind thoughts to you

For me my current comfort food seems to be polenta porridge. I used to eat semolina porridge as a comfort food but I now eat mostly gluten free. So polenta porridge does the trick. I often add in some fruit like pear, blueberries or some pieces of orange from my orange tree. I also like to add a dash of nutmeg.

Hi there,
I can always eat a cheese roll. The ones from Baker’s Delight etc. It has to have a good layer of baked cheese on top of the roll. And then, I cut it open, put some butter/margarine on it and a slice of cheese. Put it back together and voila.

Hi!! I absolutely love this!!
I think no matter the situation a nice lasagna always puts me in good spirits! It just makes me feel so warm and comforted! I also am always keen for a sweet treat (despite my rather unhealthy ability to eat them all in one sitting)!

Hey,
Love this idea! I’m Greek and so every time I eat a souvlaki it always reminds me of visiting Greece and makes me feel nostalgic! It’s a staple in my family so we always eat it together. We just had one at a Greek festival this past weekend, and I’m already craving another lol
