Hi guys, I'm a poet and my poetry has been one of the most powerful tools that I have used on my mental health recovery journey.
Getting creative and writing poetry helps me to get my feelings out of my head and onto paper and in the past my poems have even given other people hope.
So I have created this post in the hope of creating a "safe outlet space" for those who are also that way inclined 🙂

ACCEPTANCE (STEP INTO THE CLEAR) ~ copied from my Positivity Journal
She is positively flawed
But she smiles as every door opens into warm, accepting light
She accepts every bulge, every scar, every fear
She knows that Wellness, Truth and Wisdom are here
So wipe down those "Soul Windows"
Step into the clear

Dear Butterfly.Wings.of.Hope~
While I think of it I like your avatar, it does of coure remind me of the Beyond Blue logo, though the older version which had a shadow underneath. However it brings to mind perception, and how the same thing, a butterfly's wing, can have life and color, but under overwhelming influences may become grey, similar to the false picture of the world around it conjured up by depression and anxiety.
I also like the second stanza,
She accepts every bulge, every scar, every fear
She knows that Wellness, Truth and Wisdom are here
as life is full of bulges, scars and fear, and as one gets accustomed to them and copes better they yield experience
The Forum does have a poetry section:
You may like to contribute this and other works there, it has been going for many years and is surprisingly well read and added too
I look forward to more of your work.

Dear Butterfly.Wings.of.Hope~
This place is based in part on those who are suffering still reaching out a hand to others. That's how I came to be here.
Reaching out that helping hand happens in different ways for different people. For many it is simply an answering post with comfort or advice, or plain sympathy and understanding . For others it can be sharing a happy memory they -and others - can draw on in hard times, see:
https://www.beyondblue.org.au/get-support/online-forums/staying-well/store-your-happy-memories-here-
For others again it is poetry, that subtle and powerful way of communication, and I think you have that ability, so when you check out the poetry corner, please contribute as well as absorb.

I love your poem B.W.O.H!
i want to acceot every bulge, every scar, every fear.
I want to wioe diwn my windiws and step into the clear!
I want to walk into warm accepting light!
I am starting to feel like the doors are slowly opening for me (maybe? maybe not?) ... i will put it out there though and try to smile through my positively flawedness, your encouragement and courage helps.
❤ thank you for sharing.
