The BB cafe is open for business!
Welcome all to a new chill and chat place for everyone on the forum.

The BB cafe is whatever you want it to be. There are comfy sofas, tables and chairs, coffee machines, a kitchen stocked with everything. There's a pool outside, a bbq area, an annexe with comfy beds for a quiet sleep, tv, dvd, books and whatever else you would like to have here.

Most of all, it's a place to meet friends and fellow travellers for a bit of company. Talk over problems, tell jokes, share your day, escape into a world of your making. Grab a coffee and pull up a chair ...

So, with a nod to the wonderful Carole King (Hard Rock Cafe) ...

Now if you're feeling just a little bit lonely
Don't sit at home just mopin'
Come on down to where the friendship flows freely
You know the door is always open

At the BB cafe
Come to the BB cafe
They will help keep your blues at bay
At the BB cafe

Lovely to see you Kaz,

There are times when it is more then ok for it to be about you, and I think this is one of them. I have every confidence that you will get through this time and I for one will welcome you feeling good again after the terrors of flu and adjusting to a medication that has to be tailored to you.

The grass was white with patches of ice this morning, which was beautiful glistening in the morning sun, and best of all I could view it from the warmth of inside. I think Canberra is the only place colder at this time of year.

Hi Kaz,

hope you're feeling better soon. Sorry to hear you've had a rough time and I'm glad to hear you have such a wonderful hubby.

Take care

Hi Kaz,

So sorry to hear that you're still fighting the flu, along with the side effects of cutting back on meds. No wonder you are feeling a little 'battered'. And thats unfortunate about no longer being able to take some time off work to facilitate the changeover in meds.

On a happier note though, you are so lucky to have a caring and supportive hubby. And what a lucky fellow he is to have someone as wonderful as you in his life. And I trust that your little doggie doctors will help you through the possibly bad days throughout your adjustment. Just know that better days are ahead ............

Perhaps its time to open up that new thread that you were intending to open? Where we can keep in touch with you a little more personally than through the Cafe?

Offering you a big hug and a warm blanket. Get well soon.

Hey all,

I've been around on the rare occasion but I think my posts have taken a while to clear and haven't popped up until everyone's a page or two ahead of me (so there is proof somewhere I haven't forgotten you guys). Though my comments have been brief and sparse, I've kept an eye out on what's going on with you all, I just haven't had much energy for replying.

Like Kanga, I could do with a hidey hole to hide in. Bag End would do nicely. I've caught up on sleep here and there, but inevitably I end up cycling back to square one again, and I'm so stupidly exhausted. It's either do nothing but work and sleep (and I don't even get that much work, it's just optimised for maximum disruption and minimum money), or be a person for a while without enough rest to really enjoy it. It all just seems too hard right now. My birds and my other half are enough, and everything else needs to sink into oblivion. My ongoing exhaustion is further compounded since I've been fighting off an infection and now seem to be coming down with a cold. Kaz, I have a pretty good idea of how you must be feeling right now.

I'm not sure why I'm commenting at all, really. Just drunk with exhaustion and rambling, I guess. I'm sitting here on my own, looking at all the junk in my carport I can't afford to take to the dump or get a skip to get rid of. A cat has made herself comfortable among it, and is sleeping peacefully. I envy that cat.

Hi there Blue. Lovely to see you here again. I have been following your thread too. As much as I can anyway, as it is a very active thread indeed! And lots of very long posts. So although I am not a contributor to your thread, I certainly do take an interest in you.

I understand your exhaustion, and dont blame you at all for feeling the way you do right now. Drunk with exhaustion and rambling you say? I wish I had some solutions for you, I really do. But of course, I dont.

I'm glad you have your birds and your other half, to help you through on a daily basis. Is there any end in sight to this crazy situation with your current work? Any alternatives, or ways of making some changes that may make life a little easier for you. And hopefully more profitable for you in the process? (-:

Its always good to see you Blue. Take a short break in the cafe and curl up with one of the Cafe cats and take a nap by the fire. Certainly you've well and truly earned a break. I hope your infection doesnt get the better of you, and that the cold doesnt eventuate. Hugs to you ......

Well I've made a big pot of chicken soup for everyone to help themselves to. Perfect for those with colds and flu and great to soothe the soul 😊

There is also dome chicken schnitzel and salad if anyone is still hungry. I'll leave it all here on the bench.. Help yourself and enjoy!

Perfect CMF - it is definitely a chicken soup evening. And it looks and smells delicious. Many thanks to you.

And by the way, I fully agree with Kiamau - your self proclaimed 'petty' issues are not at all petty. We each have our own issues, which is the reason ultimately for us all being here on the Forums. All important, and none more worthy of consideration and caring, than the next.

Hope you've had a good day?

Kiamau - hope you've had a good day today. And that your day off tomorrow is spent doing something fun.

You're very welcome Sherie and thanks for your kind words 😊

It was an interesting day. Besides the protest that was going on in my area there were a few words exchanged between the dads of the kids on my sons tennis team. My son didn't play as he wasn't feeling well. One of the other boys was running late so another dad (whom I have little to do with as he was trouble last year also) had a go at him and his son and was quite rude. The late comers ended up walking out and leaving them and I dont blame them. I wish I was there to defend them, they've been treated unfairly for while I feel.

i made a quick call to a friend from whom I received very sad news re his wife's pregnancy. All I could do was offer my support and tell them I'm here if they need anything. This friend is the head coach of out tennis club so guess who he received a call from today? Yes, the dad who walked out on the team today who was not privy to the devastation he was going through. I know the 2 stories going on but they don't fully know each other's story so it was a sticky situation.

besides all this I caught up on some housework, made the chicken soup and had a visit from the little ones dad who seemed in good spirits and spent time with her throwing and catching a ball which she loves so that was positive.

how did you go with your guests sleeping over? My son has a friend staying over tonight. They are good kids so I'm happy with that. I'm certainly glad he doesn't associate with kids he used to have over in grade 6. They turned out to be trouble 🙁.

fair bit if rain today, which I like.

yes, interesting day...
