The BB cafe is open for business!
Welcome all to a new chill and chat place for everyone on the forum.
The BB cafe is whatever you want it to be. There are comfy sofas, tables and chairs, coffee machines, a kitchen stocked with everything. There's a pool outside, a bbq area, an annexe with comfy beds for a quiet sleep, tv, dvd, books and whatever else you would like to have here.
Most of all, it's a place to meet friends and fellow travellers for a bit of company. Talk over problems, tell jokes, share your day, escape into a world of your making. Grab a coffee and pull up a chair ...
So, with a nod to the wonderful Carole King (Hard Rock Cafe) ...
Now if you're feeling just a little bit lonely
Don't sit at home just mopin'
Come on down to where the friendship flows freely
You know the door is always open
At the BB cafe
Come to the BB cafe
They will help keep your blues at bay
At the BB cafe

mmMekitty, I’m on the coconut water tonight. Icy cold. Chips it is for you. Got some Fancy Deli chips. Just Sea Salt flavour for me.
Watching the Brisbane International and the time difference it’s not yet a midnight snack for you but almost an early breakfast for me in Melbourne.
I can’t go to bed until this match is over…

Good afternoon BB cafe friends,
Hope you’ve recovered from the tennis marathon last night.
I finished my chores early this morning as it’s too hot by noon to be outside or even do housework inside.
Just finished a lovely cold sandwich as it’s too hot to cook today. It’s just going to heat up the house. So cold salads and meats are on my menu today.
Settled in for more fantastic tennis. Have a lovely day everyone 🙏🏼

that's the way, when it's too hot, to get chores, or any exercise done early, make cold meals for a while, & relax - & drink plenty of water! & when even sitting around gets too hot, go in for a cool shower or bath.
& stay out of the sun.
Paul, Yesterday, I had a tomato sandwich. Today I had a quick basic salad of lettuce, beetroot, & carrot. I'm feeling so tired, too much. Tonight, because it's not too hot here, I fried up some onion, put that on bread, with cheese on top, & toasted until the cheese on top was melted. No, that's not very healthy, just so yummy.
I've had a late shower, so now I feel more comfortable, & getting sleepy again ...
Little sad about Raffa. Great for the Aussie, Oi, oi, oi!

Good morning BB cafe friends,
Monday morning already. I will need more than a coffee or two to get my brain functioning properly.
Melbourne is really confusing me again. It’s so overcast and drizzling you could think it Autumn as it’s a little humid still.
Paul, hello and happy new year to you. Saturday I got some fresh rye bread from the bakery and topped it with cottage cheese, cucumber, smoked salmon and lots of fresh dill and a little squeeze of lemon. That was Saturday 3pm lunch. I honestly can’t recall what if anything I had for dinner.
I shouldn’t have rye bread or bagels and should be eating gluten free bread or no bread at all but I do anyway. It’s a treat to have fresh bakery bread. My local “Vietnamese” bakery is so good. The gluten free bread is usually in freezer and I take out 2 slices as I need them. Actually all our bread goes into the freezer as it’s so humid that it gets mouldy very quickly.
Sunday brunch was Ham and Egg omelette with a side salad. No bread!
It was a little cooler yesterday so by 3pm I got motivated to start preparing dinner. I had planned on making a filo bake or Burek as it’s commonly known, as I had feta cheese and sour cream and of course filo pastry. I made it with rocket and dill as I didn’t have spinach. It was delicious with a cold cucumber salad.
As for weekend chores and housework goes, I changed the bed linens and turned the mattress around. Worked up a sweat, had a shower and watched tennis and A-League football for the rest of the day.
I still have half of a half leg of ham from Christmas but I plan to do a pea and ham soup this week. Just waiting for the right kind of weather for it.
Enjoy your day lovely BB cafe friends 🙏🏼

Hi Friends,
Wow. Haven't been in here for years. I see some are watching the tennis. I love tennis but since Federer retired my heart isn't in it as much.

I have a soft spot for Raffa Nadal so am disappointed he’s gone home injured again and already.
I will be screaming for the Aussies anyway 😅

Hello everyone, I drop in from time to time. It is funny ti read people are hit when it always seems to be cold and raining here. I think since beginning of December we have had about 5 warm days without rain.
I have discovered frittatas and omelettes again and yummy toasties.

Hello Quirky, CMF, Fiatlux, Paul & any new members reading, or others who are not members, reading... as Paul reminds us, ALL are welcome.
I had a soft spot for Federer, Raffa, Martina, the Woodies, & more recently, Ash. I am out of touch, tough, not being able to (usually) even tall the players apart, so not able to follow the game ... & too much blue irritating my eyes, too ... wish I could, so I could be excited about the young ones coming up the ranks.
It's difficult to decide to who to barrack for when I like them both (or all, in the case of doubles).
It was sad to see that Raffa had the injuries playing up again. Maybe it was too soon. Maybe he feared, if not now, then retirement might be in the wind & he really want s to compete. How do elite sportspeople decide when it's time to retire?
Loving the toasties, omelettes & frittatas - so much, it's hard to decide which to have first! I'm not happy with the humidity, but am with the fact it is cool enough to want to cook again. So, I can try to be patient, because it's not really practical nor healthy to have all three in one meal.
