The BB cafe is open for business!
Welcome all to a new chill and chat place for everyone on the forum.
The BB cafe is whatever you want it to be. There are comfy sofas, tables and chairs, coffee machines, a kitchen stocked with everything. There's a pool outside, a bbq area, an annexe with comfy beds for a quiet sleep, tv, dvd, books and whatever else you would like to have here.
Most of all, it's a place to meet friends and fellow travellers for a bit of company. Talk over problems, tell jokes, share your day, escape into a world of your making. Grab a coffee and pull up a chair ...
So, with a nod to the wonderful Carole King (Hard Rock Cafe) ...
Now if you're feeling just a little bit lonely
Don't sit at home just mopin'
Come on down to where the friendship flows freely
You know the door is always open
At the BB cafe
Come to the BB cafe
They will help keep your blues at bay
At the BB cafe

Hi mmMekitty, Grandy and everyone else,
My usual options for self care are not very limited currently and maybe for some time in the future. I’ve got to be careful what I do as I’ve got a small tear in a shoulder tendon and don’t want to make it worse. Makes the days very long when can’t do craft, play croquet or billiards.
Music …. always a great idea. Bands and singers from the 50’s and 60’s are best ever. Throw in some country and western plus some Human Nature and I’m in. Jimmy Little, Jim Reeves, Deltones, Everly Brothers, Beach Boys.

Hello Patches & everyone,
I had some John Williamson over the weekend, including a couple uploaded DVD on Youtube. I thought it was lovely, touching sometimes, funny sometimes too. In the DVDs he had been travelling around Australia, talking to people along the way, showing us ta bit of their lives. Great stuff, with some of his music, too.
I'm wanting to be up late tonight because I have a blood test to do tomorrow morning. It's one which I have to fast for, so I want to have a midnight snack, big snack, so I won't feel too hungry before I go for the blood test. If I could be sure I'd wake up at 1:30am, I'd be having my snack then. The timing would be just about perfect. It's definately possible that I could wake up at tthat time, if I went to bed at my usual time, just not guaranteed.
Did someone say to use an alarm to wake up? That doesn't necessarily work for me.
So, in the morning, while only permitted water, I'll have to do something to not think how I'm not having breakfast. Certainly, I'll listen to some music, dance around, too. & tidy up around here a bit.
Oh, & I heard a song today, which came out in 1959, called 'Lawdy Clawdy'. Ah, but it wasn't about a cat & her claws.
Hugzies,
mmMekitty

Hello Quirky, & everyone.
It's good to hear from you again. I hope you've been keeping well.
I am using YouTube & AcuRadio for music as long as I can. I'm not sure what I'll do when I can't use them anymore, unless both website make their sits user friendly for people who are blind & using keyboard shortcuts to get around so many items on each page.
Today is a day for a mocha. I know the vet said I ought not have chcolate, but I guess i'm in the mood to live a little dangerously today, after all, I don't think there is really very much chocolate in the mocha anyway, not even one little square. 😸
Then, I'll stretch out in the sun, over on the wide windowsill, & have a long snooze. The day will warm up just enough to make me smell toasty.
Then, when it begins to cool down again, I'll go in for a big cup of chicken soup, with bits of chicken I can scoop up in my claws. 😸
This has turned into a lovely day
Hugzies everyone,
mmMekitty.

Hello everyone,
I've come here today to get warm. My paws are simply freezing.
I thought some winter warming food might help. Any suggestions about what food you like when it's cold & you really need to get warmed up from heat to toe (paw)?
I'm going to try one of my favourites - ham & cheese tortellini with tomato soup.
While it may not be good for my body, it tastes so yoummy. [Emoji of mmMekitty licks own lips in anticipation of yummy food]. Lasagna is yummy, too, but it's hard to make a really good bechamel sauce.

Hi there,
My favourite winter food to eat is lentil soup with crusty bread. It's filling and warms you up! I also love to have a hot cup of tea at night which is very comforting.
Stay warm,

Hello PsychDiaries.
Very nice to see you here. How do you like your tea?
I still like my coffee in a large cup, very milky, heated in the microwave, with a little sugar again, since I want it a little stronger again. I'm usually having my coffee early in the morning because I don't sleep well, & may as well get up if it seems I'm not getting back to sleep by 5:50am.
As for crusty bread, I like a browun, nearly burnt, toasted sandwich. Cheese for preference. Add the magic trio of ham, cheese & tomato & it's wonderful. My other favourite sandwich is a chicken, tabouleh & cheese toasted sandwich.
Would you like a game of pool or snooker? Some music? A skate around the Cafe? Whatever you like. After all, this is the original BB Cafe of our imaginations.
Hugzies,
mmMekitty

Hello everyone,
You've convinced me, Wolfie, even though I don't usually like pumpkin.
I can imagine all that orange warmth spreading & covering your insides with warmth. Enough to make me purr with pleasure.
I've been reviewing & commenting on a very long document & only finished 20 mins ago. I ought to have eaten my dinner by now. So at the risk of making myself uncomfortable, I'm in the mood for scrambled egg & spinach. Quick & yummy.
Hugzies,
mmMekitty
