The BB cafe is open for business!
Welcome all to a new chill and chat place for everyone on the forum.
The BB cafe is whatever you want it to be. There are comfy sofas, tables and chairs, coffee machines, a kitchen stocked with everything. There's a pool outside, a bbq area, an annexe with comfy beds for a quiet sleep, tv, dvd, books and whatever else you would like to have here.
Most of all, it's a place to meet friends and fellow travellers for a bit of company. Talk over problems, tell jokes, share your day, escape into a world of your making. Grab a coffee and pull up a chair ...
So, with a nod to the wonderful Carole King (Hard Rock Cafe) ...
Now if you're feeling just a little bit lonely
Don't sit at home just mopin'
Come on down to where the friendship flows freely
You know the door is always open
At the BB cafe
Come to the BB cafe
They will help keep your blues at bay
At the BB cafe

I'm afraid they'd break their teeth on them, unless they have diamond teeth, of-course.... but seriously, no matter how rich someone is, I can't imagine they would be so silly as to throw their diamond & gold tennis balls or anything diamond & gold, for their pets to fetch & play with.
Better off buying their cats some of that expensive salmon, & their dogs some Wagyu Beefsteaks & designer toys that look like designer shoes, customised cars, roboticized mice, birds & fish .. humm,?
So, where's my goose down, royal purple Angora wool cushion with matching Royal purple Tweed covered scratching posts?
In the mail?

Good morning BB cafe,
mmMekitty, I can imagine my old cat chasing that Diamond tennis ball around the house. He loved low hanging shiny Christmas tree baubles.
I have heard Olympic medallist allowing their children to play dress ups with their medals.
But my favourite trophy is the Australian Mens A-League Football trophy which is affectionately known as the Golden Toilet Seat due it’s shape and it’s Gold plated. I don’t doubt that many have sat on that thing just for a laugh.
Melbourne is definitely giving us 4 seasons in one day… as long as it gets better before the Australian Open starts.
mmMekitty, Australia has knocked the USA out of the United Cup, so into the Quarter Finals, thanks to Alex de Minaur who is on fire 🔥
Time for more coffee and breakfast cake, have a great day cafe dwellers.

Fiatlux, so true. My cats love the fragile Christmas ornaments and would definitely get behind a diamond or gold tennis ball. Those would be some expensive toys though, I'd imagine...
I think if I were an Olympic medalist, I'd be scared to let my kids go near my medals. If one of those breaks or gets lost, I don't think they'd be very easy to replace! 😬
How's everyone at the Cafe going today, what's on the agenda for the rest of this week (or even 2024)? Does anybody have any New Year's resolutions at all?
I wrote quite the Word Document on mine, just because I like setting goals at the beginning of the year, I think it sets the tone nicely and allows me to plan and prioritise better.

Good evening cafe friends,
sbella02, I did read your New Year’s resolutions post and good for you for putting that out.
I am too old and disappointed to make any resolutions. I suppose my resolutions are to walk away from conflict and crazy makers. Just don’t have the energy for that. I have been watching comedy and laughing out loud all by my lonesome. That and watching a lot more sports. Tennis is inspiring me at the moment.
Although I am in Melbourne, I am finding that the evaporative cooling system is not working as well as it used to. Luckily we have timber floors downstairs as these got very wet the last time we had terrible hot humid weather. Today I invested in a dehumidifier to test whether this helps. I can’t imagine what the damp is doing to the carpet upstairs.
Has anyone had a dehumidifier or used one and do they actually work?
18 years ago when evaporative cooling was recommended, we had water restrictions in Melbourne as it hadn’t rained in years. How the years fly by…
The Olympic medalist I saw being interviewed about where she keeps her medals was Susie O’Neil. She was a mum to young kids at the time and still stunning and so down to earth. Her kids often played dress ups and kiddy olympics using her numerous medals. What lucky kids 🙏🏼

Good Evening everyone and Happy New Year…..🤗,
I enjoyed listening to cats and diamond encrusted balls….I don’t have cats, but I’m sure my dogs would love to play catch with them….
I don’t make New Years Resolutions anymore and haven’t for quite a few years….Not wanting to focus on any one thing, like loosing weight, eating healthier or exercising everyday will lead me to failure and disappointment….Every day is a new day to do what we want to do, eat what we want to eat and try to enjoy it the best we can….
My daughter in law introduced me to Clic Crackers, they are like Jazz but so much softer and crumbles when you eat them….I tried a small Ice Cream sandwich with them…it was so good….I had 3 sandwiches 😂😂😂…plenty in the freezer and pantry if you want to try an ice cream sandwich or 2 or 3…
Think I’ll make a cuppa tea now, then into bed…tomorrow is my first day back to work this year….
Enjoy your night everyone,
love and hugs..
Grandy..

Yum. Something about sweet and salty combinations that I find irresistible.
Naughty me had salted macadamia nuts with Lindt chocolate balls after dinner and as a late night snack I just finished a salada with Nutella while watching the tennis.
I am going to feel it later when I can’t get to sleep. Good night everyone 🙏🏼

The salted macadamias & chocolate balls is a glorious combination!
I'll have to check up on the latest tennis news. I've seen very little tele today.
Grandy, I agree. We can make changes any day of the year.
Sleep well, everyone, with pleasant dreams.
