Smallwolf's Den

I have one thread that is my story. I have created one other thread that is a never ending story with a post appearing at random times. I thought about things that I had in games I played and one thing that came to mind was a home. I post replies to other's stories and at the end of the day go to bed. Sometimes there can be things I want to say that might not fit in my story or other threads.

So I decided to create this space where conversations might start and stop, change 180 degrees and go onto some some other tangent. You might have a question for me, or vice versa. Perhaps a place to shout or just get away.. so welcome to my den....

A wolf's den... a home... a place of safety. I will describe this space in a future place.

If you are looking for a chat, a space to share, come in and sit down around a small fire with a tea or coffee to recharge, for connection (?), re-imagination or anything else.

Doorways and showers tend to be somewhat problematic, yes. Quite often I run into the issue of not being able to raise the shower head enough to be able to stand comfortably underneath without bending into a partial squat, and it’s physically impossible to lift most door frames in the same way. 😅

But at least I’m always able to reach high shelves, a skill which comes in handy far more often than you’d think. Not a year goes by without at least one, “Excuse me, could you please lift that off for me?” Of course I get more than enough, “You know, you should play basketball!” as well... ugh... heheh! 🤣

And don’t get me started on needing US size 15 shoes when trying to use stairs intended for “average” sized feet... 🙃

So... Basketball?

Bad joke. Sorry.

What sort of things do you like to pass the time?

I am on holidays at the moment. Reading and doing nothing are my go-to. And podcasts, music...

Right now, my pastimes include walking and... not much else. The more I become aware of my present circumstances, the more I look to a future separate from my parents. Taking long walks far from my parents’ home helps in the self-reflective process, as I am able to think clearly and independently as myself, without the long-since-expired childhood attachments to Mum and Dad. Any opportunity for even a little taste of true adult independence is most welcome. Basically, to get my life on track, I need to follow my own path, which for now is taken in a literal capacity.

Plus, the sights and sounds of the places I visit provide an abundance of inspiration for my writing. Nature and exploration provide a form of catharsis and strength that cannot be found when tied down by family, obligations, and constant reminders (well, lies) of “you cannot”.

Hey smallwolf and all, just browisng through the forums and I thought I'd come and say hi to everybody here.

hiya mb... what have you been up to?

Crap, I'm so very sorry smallwolf, I only just saw this as I was browsing through my old threads. I'm so sorry.

I'm ok, how are you?

thats ok. consider this place as a mailbox... one day you will come and collect and perhaps reply.

I had a good long chat with my mother this evening - chatting about nothing in particular. just for the company.

That's a good way of putting it, I never thought of that.

That's good you could talk to your Mum.

Perhaps a little while ago or you but I grew up in the time when people sent letters to each other and then the Internet started to happen for me in the early 90s and used dial up modems. People had to wait or things then

Yeah I wasn't born until 1999 haha. I still like sending cards/letters though.
