Seeking connection

I am Arra I am 30 years old, I like mountain biking, fishing, surfing, gardening and going for walks with my family. I am connecting on here as I feel quite isolated, alone and exclude from other services when I actually need *help* not to be silenced or excluded
I don’t always get it right, impulsiveness comes with having severe adhd that has affected me my entire life, so sometimes I say things I don’t mean or find rules hard to follow, but I am trying so hard. I have a history of severe and complex trauma, anxiety and issues managing my anger and overwhelm
I would like to establish connections and a community here. I hope people drop in this thread to say hi.
culture is important to me I identify as Arrernte

Thanks Arra, you too. It's very peaceful here at the moment. I'm in a rural coastal town and can hear the ocean rolling in in the distance. Wishing you and your family a peaceful Easter break.

Us too @Eagle Ray hi @Whatsinaname @Scared @Ggrand

i am feeling a little better about the current situation its not resolved yet but I feel a little more heard, and things have been perhaps put into perspective that it will be ok

I feel a lot more relaxed

this is my favourite time of the year, it smells like football season and mowed grass

We live on a large property

Things I can hear currently:

- My boys yelling outside on their bikes riding our homemade jumps

- A mower somewhere far in the distance it will be the neighbours ride on

- My little girls and mrs arra on a video call in another room with some of her family interstate and my little baby giggling

Lots to do in the garden today before picking up Mrs arra’s parents from the train station they are spending Easter here from this afternoon until Monday

Hi Arra and Everyone,

Arra, it's good you feel a little better about your current situation. I know what you mean about things feeling pretty upsetting, but that after a while there is some perspective and it's not so impactful. I'm really glad you feel a lot more relaxed.

I love your description: "it smells like football season and mowed grass". I grew up with the footy in our family and now I think about it, autumn is that time where it all starts to build towards footy season and it is sort of like it's in the air. I live near my town's sport's oval and I heard them doing footy training the other day.

I love this time of year too. I'm in regional WA and it is often a time when there are beautiful, calm mornings. I'm near a river and ocean and the river can be completely flat in the mornings and it's very atmospheric. I see dolphins on some of my walks. I often hear the sound of them breathing through their blowhole first and then usually spot them surfacing nearby.

Your property sounds great for the kids with homemade jumps. That sounds so lovely hearing your little girls and Mrs Arra talking to family with your baby giggling.

It's still pretty peaceful here today, even though Easter is usually a busy time. I think the tourist season may be a little less busy with the petrol issues at the moment. There's a gentle breeze coming in through the window. I'm about to walk down to my local supermarket and get a few things.

Wishing you a lovely Easter time with your family and Mrs Arra's parents too.

Hello Dear Arra,

Its so nice to hear you’re feeling a bit better about your situation….

Reading your post about what you can hear has warmed my heart…that’s so precious…I live rural and the property across from me is mainly grazing land, this holiday break has the owners there this week with there children..and they are riding there bikes and laughing a lot…nothing in this world is better then the sound of happy children’s laughter…

This is also my favourite time of the year…leaves changing colour and falling all over the ground and even on roads…looks amazing and so natural..

I hope that you, you’re family and your mother in law has a beautiful and peaceful couple of days together….

Happy Easter to your beautiful family and God Bless…

Grandy..

Hi Dear Arra,

My day was a quiet day, I live alone and spent it sitting outside watching nature…I have a huge Gum Tree a few feet from my front gate and the birds love it…my sons messaged me, which I was a bit disappointed with, I would have loved to talk to them…but am grateful they didn’t forget me…

I decided not to buy any Easter chocolates this year…There are no young children around where I live this year…..so I can’t give them to anyone…I love chocolate but not the Easter chocolates …

I hope you all recover from yesterday chocolate intake..to have a beautiful day today, maybe a tea party in your daughters new cubby house….

Enjoy your day Dear Arra..🐥🤗.

That’s kind of you @Ggrand

I got a call early this morning to say someone I know passed away and its made me very sad

I went for a run with one of my kids in the pram and we met my family at the coffee shop after

I’m pretty upset over it

a very influential person to me in my teens and early 20s

Loved meeting my kids and all that

I just can’t stop thinking about it
