Merry Christmas!

I would like to wish everyone on the Forums and at Beyondblue a Merry Christmas!

My wish this year is that all of us have at least a few nice hours where we feel relaxed and connected to everyone around us. I wish that we can accept ourselves and the black dog a little better and that the new year will see us coping a little better than the years past.

dear Yggy, after all you have been through as well as all the other people struggling, it's lovely that you can wish all of us a Merry Xmas and New Year, so thank you so much.

As each and every one of us grow older, you would think that the Black Dog's time must eventually come to an end, unfortunately it doesn't, but we will continue to thrive to keep knocking it on it's head with all the support we can give each other, I wish each and everyone of you all the very best. I would also like to the opportunity to wish everyone on the forums a Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year in 2016. Take a moment to hold something close, tell someone you love them, smile at a child, take small steps forward, be thankful for being and breathe in the air. Life isn't all that it is cracked up to be most of the time, but in 2016 may you gain some sense of belonging, peace and tranquillity from the seemingly never-ending chaos of life.

please stay positive for next year, I so much hope you will have a better year next year, stay healthy and beat the illness! 

I read your reply on the other thread and it is great how they cared for you and you had a dedicated team to look after you. It would be so nice if a team of specialists and carers would do the same when speaking of mental illnesses - we could all need that support as well!

dear Mary, it's lovely that you have replied to so many people over this past year, even though you yourself haven't found it to be easy at all and struggling silently and inwardly, so please accept my very good wishes and all the very best for next year.

There's a group of us who respond to lots of other people seeking help and advice, but even this small group is not predisposed to falling backwards, so no one is immune from this ugly illness, even though we find the strength to still reply, and Mary this definitely includes you, so well done, but more so, I do want to wish you all the very best for the rest of this year and all of next year. dear Kazzl, thank you so much for your kind reply comment, and it's an enormous achievement for you to post and reply today as it's Xmas Day, so today can be a sad day for many and lots of people feel uncomfortable, and I have to admit I am included in this group, but tomorrow I will see my two little granddaughters aged 4 and 2 next year and that will please me, because I gave money to my son and daughter in law to buy a present for them, and they bought them a safe trampoline.

Kazzl, it's almost a new year, and boy how much I want to wish you a 'golden wish for happiness' for the upcoming year. Geoff. xx

Dear Geoff,

Merry Christmas to you and enjoy time with your grandchildren tomorrow! I always found that our children gave me instant relaxation as soon as I got home, as they never cared how my day was, but were bursting to tell me about their little adventures and engage me in play.

I am trying to relax today and enjoy the day with my husband - our first xmas just the two of us, ever! Missing the good old days, but glad my husband made me take a step back and take a rest this holiday.
