Hi Ess Elle

Great to hear from you - I was only thinking of you this morning - just wondering how you were going.

It's funny isn't it.  This site and you get to know people - and you know, the regulars, and if you don't hear from them for a little while, you just wonder if they're doing ok.

I know you were in a really bad place like, a week ago.  I so hope that you've experienced just a little bit of brightness this last week - even if it was say, through some clouds - but a little sunshine trying to peep through.

Again, lovely and AWESOME to hear from you.

Neil

hey guys,

why is it when things are going bad, they just get worse.

lots of pain at the moment ( my back) and wait for it, a badly infected tooth was too bad to save and had to be extracted. Ouch!

have to drink my tea and coffee with a straw- gives new meaning to the saying,

"life sucks"

Ess Elle

Hi Stressless,

Sorry to hear about your back and tooth, neither is very fun and you are right when sometimes it seems that the less we could need things like this happening, the more likely they happen. I am going to have to see a dentist this week about my own tooth. Hopefully I won't be sucking my tea tbrough a straw. On top of thag I am getting a cold!

Thankyou for thinking of me, but though I am not I am not posting much at the moment, I am warm, have my remaining cat draped over my legs and have pictures of potential new cat friends for her on the internet to comfort me.

Hope that life gets  better, or at least stops hurting so much,

GA

Dear Stressless

Life indeed walks around with one of those massive massive round swirley coloured lollipops that you’d get from the local Fair or Show – weren’t they called “All Day Suckers”.  The last time I viewed one of them was on Seinfeld with Kramer was walking around licking away on it.  Unfortunately the one that Life walks around with isn’t an All Day Sucker, but an “All Life Sucker”.

Isn’t it weird – my parents used to go off at me when I would have lollies as a young ‘un – which was mostly due to the fact that their parents didn’t give a rats about what ‘they’ ate as children and resulting from that, by their late teens, I think all their teeth had largely rotted out and had to be replaced with ‘falsies’.  So Mum’s point was valid – and just makes your cringe really when you hear snippets of how parenting styles in generations gone by were.

I’m really going off topic here – hope you don’t mind – just trying to take your mind off things for a bit – but this is coming from you mentioning the word ‘straw’.

One time when I was in Sydney with my Mum after one of my operations on my lip – we were at a corner shop, wanting to buy straws so I could get a drink – cause having been operated on my lip, and stitches being there, it made it terribly difficult to open my mouth very much.  So we went in and asked do you sell straws – to which the person behind the counter said, yes, I’ll get you some.  He came back with a packet of straws – the potato chip version of them – do you remember the long thin match like straws from all those years ago that you’d eat.   And as much as I would have loved to have had a packet, alas, I could eat them – but we did eventually end up with a packet of the proper drinking straws.  I still remember that so vividly – and that was well over 40 years ago.

Large digressive kind of post for you.

I hope the pain in your gum has subsided somewhat and that you have managed to get through the weekend reasonably ok with the painful back as well.

Kind regards

Neil
