despite loving vidya i have extremely poor taste in video games so my recommendations will most likely only be useful if you like nintendo, edgy jrpgs, or story/meta heavy walking simulators

Hi James.M,

Thank you for your post and great thread!

I'll just link to another one quite similar to yours from GalaxyGirll https://www.beyondblue.org.au/get-support/online-forums/bb-social-zone/video-games#qwmh13HzvGGEbv8AA...

Some of the ones I've loved are - Forgotten Anne, Hidden folks, Deponia, Two point hospital, Artifex mundi ones (they do adventure/HOS/point and click), House flipper and the Rusty Lake series.

What are the ones you like?

i've been thinking about two point hospital because i remember watching playthroughs of theme hospital (its spritual predecessor) a lot when i was younger for some reason but its like $54 and i consider it a indulging in putting something on my steam wishlist that isnt like 15 bucks. i have nitw on there ($30) and also the ace attorney original trilogy because... i dont know. i like them lawyergames even if ive memorised them from heart and it costs fortysomething. i slot a slightly pricey viddy game on my steam wishlist and go back to the richard siken quotes about how the ENORMITY of my DESIRE DISGUSTS me

Hi eight,

Oh yeah it's good fun 🙂 I can guarantee you that I didn't pay 54$ for it though! I think it may have been around 30$ but I can't remember - I generally just put things on my wishlist too and wait for a big steam sale to justify it! I've never purchased anything from Steam full price.

What is the nitw one? I will look up the ace attorney!

ahaha well maybe you can reframe it to the ENORMITY of the DESIRE IS GOOD FUN AND PLEASES ME A LOT

night in the woods is another narrative driven walking simulator it has some elements of platformers and roguelikes but they're usually in side minigames or not the point. 20 year old college dropout mae returns home to her tiny rust belt hometown to learn a lot of things have changed while she's been gone. warnings i can think of for alcohol n smoking, some violence, one of its themes is mental illness content (esp depression and depersonalisation disorders). ace attorney is very fun it gets messy outside of the og trilogy but i love it so much

also i wanna bring this threads attention to the racial justice and equality bundle on itch.io rn which is selling 1000+ games (valued at aroundish 9k usd/13k aud) for 5 usd thats 7.28 australian. all funds go 50/50 to community bail fund and the naacp legal defense and education fund. Its going to be open for about 3 more days go play 1658 games at the price of sevenish.

Hey eight,

I hope that you are doing well this week! Sadly I missed the date on itch but it's such a good idea and thank you for sharing! Hopefully other readers and lurkers of these forums decided to have a good look and get some!

I had a look at both of those games on steam - unfortunately ace attorney isn't on mac but I did add the other one to my wishlist because it totally looks like the games I like to play.

Thanks again eight. I think this weekend is totally a game weekend for me.
