Hi everyone, This section of the forum is a little different to the others, as you may have noticed in looking around the threads. Elsewhere on the forums, we discuss some pretty heavy topics: mental health issues, thoughts of suicide, trauma, abuse, relationship breakdowns. Here is the place to come to get away from that and have a bit of fun. Distraction can be an important tool to draw on if you're finding yourself overwhelmed by distressing thoughts and feelings. As this is a section for respite from difficult topics, we will remove posts made in this section that attempt to discuss personal issues. Please use a support thread in the appropriate section for these discussions. Happy posting!

Bonjour! The name of the game is...The One Line At A Time Story Game!. We are all going to write a story together...one line at a time. i.e. First person may write - "Once upon a time there lived a friendly dragon, high up in the mountains of the moon, in Africa. Then the second person may write - "The friendly dragon loved to do yoga on Tuesdays, cooking classes with his other dragon mates on Wednesdays, and has a session with his CBT therapist on Thursdays." ...and so on and so forth... Have fun. Be creative. MuchAmusement Kaitoa ****Remember the point of this game, is to keep the story going...so do your best*** ...one line at a time... So, where do we start? The beginning, of course...a very good place to start!. So the first line for our story is... --- Mitchell loved fire.

Hey everyone, I like playing games, so I thought that I would start one that I sometimes play with the pre-schoolers at work. It's called "fortunately/ unfortunately". The aim of the game is tell and create a story, kind of like a serial, but the beginning of each sentence or paragraph has to be with words fortunately or unfortunately. The trick is that they have to alternate. It can be a creative, silly or just plain crazy. But the aim is to keep the story going. I'm going to start with..... It was a bright sunny morning, so today I went to the beach. Unfortunately everyone else had the same idea as I did, but..... Next person is to continue the story starting with fortunately. Feel free to join in!

I'm in Year 12, and while I get that everyone feels stressed at this stage of their life and that my feelings probably aren't as bad as others', I still don't know what to do. I used to be a straight A student, now I'm barely scraping by with low Cs. I'm afraid I won't get into my dream uni. Frankly, at this point, I'm pretty sure I won't. All the work is piling up and no matter what I do, I can't seem to get anything done in time, or just done at all. I think I have anxiety. Or something else. I don't know. I may never know, to be honest. My parents don't believe in mental illness, and I don't know what to say to my friends about it. They've always called me the 'funny' friend. Every time one of them is feeling down, it's often my job to cheer them up. How will they react? Will they even believe me in the first place? I tentatively brought up the subject once a few weeks ago to a very close friend, and they just laughed in my face. Apparently, I'm "the most carefree person" that they "know". Sometimes, I wonder if that's the only reason they keep me around. To have someone to lighten the mood. I don't often get invited to their outings outside school, and one of the girls and I often butt heads a lot. She gets mad whenever I ask a question more than once and screams at me "Shut the f*ck up! God, you're so f*cking annoying." The others say that she doesn't mean it, and I believe that, but it's been happening more often than not lately. My parents are incredibly strict, and I am the only one in my friend group with a curfew. They hate it when I say what time I've got to be home, saying it's a "buzzkill". I know for a fact that this contributes to them never inviting me out. But I can't control what my parents do. There's also the matter of coming out. I've known that I'm a lesbian for about five years now. At this time, from what I've seen, most people should have already come out to their loved ones. But I'm just so scared. Completely terrified, actually. One of my older cousins came out to the family around the same time I figured out my own sexuality, and my aunt almost threw him out of their house. My parents' reaction was impossible to decipher. I don't know what I'll do if the same thing happens to me.

Hello hello! I’m rather self conscious about my interests, and want to be able to talk about them more openly. I thought here might be a good place to start, maybe find some others around my age (14) with similar interests ☺️ Ive been watching anime for a while now, though recently I’ve been particularly interested in idol/rhythm games like Bang Dream and The Idolm@ster! Doesn’t seem there’s many fans of it in Aus, hahah. If you have similar interests or want to get into them, feel free to reply! Thanks for your time~

So at work today we were a bit on the quiet side, and so we decided to use the quite few minutes to go around the team and choose nicknames for everyone! Nothing nasty of course, all friendly and only nicknames that we can all agree on, and be comfortable with. (I work with the best colleagues!) Anyway, so the really tall guy wants to be called either Ace or Stretch, one girl likes to be called ..... something ...... dammit, I can't remember now. I wanted to call her 'Red' cos she's a redhead! Um, Our 2IC we're calling Boss babe ...... anyway, we went through the whole team and there were nice cheeky smiles all around, and then I piped up and said "Hey, but what about me? What's my nickname?" and a couple of the girls, in complete unison said "Mel, you're Dory fish! Remember?!" and I said "Oh yeah, of course I am! I forgot about that!" Hahahaha!!!!!!! We all laughed so much! I really am a Dory fish, I forget so much stuff! ....... I actually, genuinely had a brain injury when I was a kid and didn't know my name for a few days, and had several weeks off school trying to get myself back together. At the time I was teased a LOT because I had to re-learn some things that had been quite basic before. These days, a lot of the time, I use humor to deal with my memory issues and tell people (customers) all sorts of funny things like "I'll come and meet you again in a moment!" or something else that will give people a laugh, like "My memory is so bad I could plan my own surprise party!". I love to make people smile and laugh, and I try to make light of it often. Only a few minutes earlier, before this little 'moment' of mine, we had been talking about a couple of very heavy issues so it was nice to have a laugh-out-loud moment, and to make light of what can sometimes be an incredibly frustrating issue.

Hi! My favourite animal has always been the dog. I'd love to hear about any dogs that you have and a little bit about them, including name, breed, age (and birthdate), their favourite things to do, and how spoilt they are! I'll start: My dog's name is Lucy. She is a purebred beagle. She is 9 but will be 10 on December 4th (born 2008). As a beagle, her stomach is all she thinks about, so she loooooves food. She loves to go for walks, and although she is antisocial, she knows the words 'dog park' and loves spending her time sniffing all the dog smells. If you are looking for Lucy, she will either be licking the floor in the kitchen, or sleeping in her queen sized bed. She has her own rocking chair (known as 'the dog's chair'), but she often sleeps on the recliners, with her blanky. She's my favourite thing ever - and I love her I'm looking forward to hearing about all your doggos! - puppies
