Hello to our wonderful forums community! We have decided to run an ongoing Big Blue Table thread ‘Forums Edition’ until the end of October! What is a Big Blue Table? Big Blue Table is Beyond Blue's signature event held during October, Mental Health Month. Big Blue Table encourages people host a meal with their friends, family or colleagues while fighting the stigma that surrounds mental health. So why are we running one here? The reason we are doing this is so people have an opportunity to connect with others and have the experience of sharing their thoughts and feelings over a meal, no matter where they are in Australia. We know Mental Health Month can be a vulnerable time for many and believe this thread could be a safe space for people to be heard and learn from others’ experiences. Our community champions will be here to support you along the way, and our moderation team will be around to answer any questions you may have, as well as to ensure the thread remains respectful and safe for everyone. We encourage you to choose from the following questions to start a conversation: What do you do to look after your mental health? Are you comfortable sharing your feelings and emotions? If not, why? What are you passionate about, and why? Who would be your dream Big Blue Table guest, and why? After you have shared your answers, we would love to hear about what you are eating or bringing to the table. You can even tell us a little bit about your setup and what you can see around you to really immerse us into your world. This is your opportunity to be as creative as you’d like! But remember, there is no pressure or ‘right’ response, whatever you bring to the table will be more than enough. We hope this thread allows you to feel connected, supported, and a part of the Big Blue Table initiative. Now… get cooking!

Hi everyone, This section of the forum is a little different to the others, as you may have noticed in looking around the threads. Elsewhere on the forums, we discuss some pretty heavy topics: mental health issues, thoughts of suicide, trauma, abuse, relationship breakdowns. Here is the place to come to get away from that and have a bit of fun. Distraction can be an important tool to draw on if you're finding yourself overwhelmed by distressing thoughts and feelings. As this is a section for respite from difficult topics, we will remove posts made in this section that attempt to discuss personal issues. Please use a support thread in the appropriate section for these discussions. Happy posting!

Hi all! Feeling chirpy and quirky this morning. Chocolate is a little bit naughty (aphrodisiac), extremely varied in choice, a migraine for some and guilty pleasure for others. Do you only have one, or consume the box? My favourite centre is mandarin. I pick out the one's I like and leave the rest behind. I'd say I'm dark and mysterious and a little bit gooier in the centre. So I think I'd be a Jaffa Old Gold. I can seem bitter depending on your taste, but when you get to my centre, I'm sweet and zesty! Cheers...Dizzy x

So, I have only recently gathered enough courage to join this forum and i guess it's going to take me some time to open up and feel comfortable but here's my first step. Sorry if this thread sounds a bit selfish. Basically, I'm only just the minimum working age limit (14 and 8 months) and i have been applying and reapplying consistently for a number of jobs for the past 8 months - all of which were unsuccessful. After completely giving up for months i suddenly decided to try again. I had released 4 applications all at once, and while 1 was unsuccessful, 2 are on hold i received an email the very next day calling for an interview. My interview is next week Wednesday afternoon and i have already started getting extremely nervous and overthinking. This interview would be my first - and obviously the furthest i have gotten into the hiring process. So before the Wednesday I wanted to ask anyone if they could give me interview tips (how to answer questions, what not to say, what to wear, gestures, etc.) and if possible share first interview experiences too. I hope to receive at least a couple replies so i can check back in and notify my friends if the interview was successful or not. Thank you everyone x P.S. excuse my English and any errors made and / or if i have unintentionally hurt or offended anyone.

Yep,I kept mine. Mind you I started collecting the 70s compilation hits albums like Whopper,Ripper,Ripper 76,Explosive Hits 75,Bobby Dazzler,Unreal, etc. Got a great collection too.Even bought the 45s and those box sets of albums like Readers Digest, etc. As for books I like collecting books. Usually on my favourate cars. I have a lot of self help books. I like things from the past like old toys just like the ones I had as a child. Nothing like brightening your day by looking at old toys taking your back to your childhood. Over to you: What do you collect/whats your hobbies?

Hi wondered where you’d have catchups where families get together that has ovens that doesn’t cost much. because it’d be nice to have somewhere where you can have catchups but don’t really have anywhere unless you book a cabin or can think of a cheap place that has a stove or have a gas stove on a trailer and can put a marquee up at beach or can use tarps to fence off the open bits in the veranda at park. can afford cabin just at moment have other expenses and it doesn’t fit in at the moment. would mounting batteries in a trailer and have a oven screwed down but not a permanent gas line work. what other options are there, everyone else always has room to have catchups and don’t have room unless you book a cabin or setup marquee at beach or fence off open bits in park. thanks

So random. But I love animals of all shapes and sizes. I love their symbolism too. I decided to make a post about what you think is your spirit animal, or what animal you love, and why. I love Koi fish. They're graceful and beautiful, energetic and peaceful. They have a lot of symbolism in Japanese culture. They symbolise wealth, prosperity, family, love, strength, etc. The traditional story is very inspiring too. A group on Koi were swimming up the Yellow River against the current. They came to a waterfall and many Koi fish turned back as it was too hard, but some continued and tried to swim up the waterfall. They swam for 100 years and finally one Koi made it to the top of the waterfall. The gods recognised his perseverance and dedication and turned him into a golden dragon. It helps me when I feel like I'm struggling, to think that after all my hard work of getting through a hard time I'll be rewarded.
