Hi ER, Croix & everybody,

So things kind of get lost or misplaced in time zones. This website thinks I'm in southern states where they have daylight savings times - but you know, I haven't figured out how any daylight gets saved.

The root Beer tastes rather like double sarsaparilla, but I think a little bit sweeter. I can't say tasting it again jogged any remembered experience from so long ago.

It's really an intellectual memory, like how I remember how much I'd once found all sea food disgusting to taste,. I realise the memory that sea food had been disgusting is not a visceral either. Maybe that's why I have been able to have some fish, calamari now.

I have tried oyster & no, no way - they really felt disgusting going down!

If you like, you can have all the prawns, too. It's not that I find them horrible, just not enjoyble.

I spent quite a while snoozing today. When I'm not concentrating on having to do something or going somewhere, I seem to get tired, & I also seem to sleep better during daylight hours. When I insist on staying awake so that I might get to sleep at night, it rarely works. In the morning, I'm waking near dawn & not able to sleep anymore until I've had breakfast.

Anyway, I'll be going now, to listen to some audiobook, very old sci-fi short stories, which, hopefully, are not so good that I can fall asleep to them.

Hugzies,

mmMekitty

Dear MK, Croix and Everyone,

I too remain puzzled about the concept of daylight saving. We don’t have it here in WA and have only occasionally had it in the past. The last time I remember we had it here was 2007 and I remember going to bed too late because it messed with my sense of time relative to the sun setting. Mostly it seems to get rejected here when there’s a vote on it.

That’s interesting about the root beer and also seafood not being visceral memories. It’s like you have the intellectual connection but not the feeling of them. It’s funny how our tastes change. I didn’t taste coriander until I was 22 and didn’t really like it in the beginning. Now I love it, especially in Thai-style cooking.

I snoozed today too MK, for several hours this afternoon. I also seem to sleep particularly well in the day. It’s like an involuntary sleep - my body just says it’s going down for nap time. I have also found that insisting staying awake to help with night time sleep doesn’t necessarily work either. In fact, at the moment I’m sleeping regardless both at night and in the day. But if I am having trouble with night sleeping I don’t find forcing myself awake in the day necessarily helps.

I hope you enjoy the audiobook but as you say not so much it prevents you sleeping. I’m gearing up to do my dishes and I’m going to select a podcast to listen to. I’ve just seen a couple of new photography ones that have come out so I think it will be one of those.

Hugs and sleep well,

ER

Dear All

Been off again in hospital due to an long-running physical condition, hope to be back on-line soon

Croix

Dear Croix,

I hope you are going ok and so sorry you are having to have the visits to hospital. I hope you have access to some humorous videos or books while there as I know you find that helpful. I find a good laugh always helps when dealing with health conditions.

We will take care of the iceberg until you’ve returned 👍

A big walrus hug to you Croix,

ER

Dear Croix,

I'm hoping the hospital stay is short for you & that you are back in your favourite chair with Sumo cat at your elbow.

Hugs
