Dear Grandy and all~
Yes a triangle wold be much preferable to the drums 🙂 I think they used one to call the Waltons to meals - a pleasant association.
My avatar is an alteration I made to Briny Beach By John Tenniel (more popularly known as The Walrus and the Carpenter) in 1871 as an illustration for Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There by Lewis Carroll.
You will be vastly relieved to see the walrus does indeed wear a full suit of garments:)
Good luck with the art, I think it is a great idea.
Croix (who is disappointed Mrs D's glasses only work one way)

Hello Croix
I just read above that Dools said there isnt much 'Dools wisdom' to share. I feel the same as I dont have a great deal of 'blond wisdom' to share either!
Just a note for Dools......You are a legend where writing thread topics are concerned...not to mention the care you have provided to so many people
There are many people having fun on here....its a great place Mr Croix
I like Adagio for Strings in G Minor.....A beautiful piece

Dear Paul~
You are mostly right, the adagio is beautiful I'm listening to it right know (Herbert Von Karajan version). I think it will help me end the day more peacefully.
Mrs Dools is a legend, and does have great wisdom and care, a wonderful person on whom many, myself included, rely for inspiration and example in harsh adversity.
It is a great - in fact unique - place, with genuine people all together.
You are wrong about that 'blond wisdom'. Sometime it is not just deep words, it is being at the right place at the right time and supplying care -things you do so frequently and so well.

Hey Monsieur Croixy and to everyone 👋
Ok Mr, arm around your shoulder...just a gentle yet firm word my dear friend. It's not very hospitable for a Walrus of your stature to deprive BB of our growing fame and adoration shown in multiple 💰 is it...by not encouraging our band practice, we have Irene as a new recruit, hey darl pick an instrument and I'll pop it up or and teach you how to access emojis if you like ☺
Ok granted my 🎷 Sherlock pipe that doubles as a.. hymm 🤔 what is that, anyhoo the problem is I've been inhaling 🤒 instead of exhaling hence smoking up da joint louie...go tell the boys to call the brigade...oh cough cough...dis is hard dis husky voice on my throat...
So in all fairness to all concerned how bout we limit band practice to wee hrs like I dunno say between 2am and 6am 😆 Grandy does the drums we'll hang up her triangle so she can multitask and you if you must ok you can soundproof your bedroom where we'll be doing it. Can't get fairer than that and I've decided to play the 🎺 instead and some vocals too. Because we're considerate we supply 🎧 for you and your beloved Mrs Walrus. I'm only copying you so you'll be in twubble.
If I was painting I could go over mistakes. I use to use White out and photocopy multiple times. Lately I'm cutting the area out putting paper at the back of the hole and redoing my areas which gets perfection or close. I'm about 70% finished many. Maybe have about 3 that wont take long. I KNOW it's viable and thrilled I've continued most days on it. I want to incorporate MH into it and apart from Doolsys idea who I'd want to reward her for the idea I have some involving Calligraphy which I love but have really only mastered old English with my spin and Shadow writing. I can do other stuff though.
Anyhoo congratulations managing your PTSD, admirable and a great show of mental strength and control Croixy 👏 I don't think it matters how long it takes, it's that you're getting there. May I ask what you do, entirely your call if you dont want to say ☺
Doolsy you underestimate yourself, you're magic 🦄 you encourage help and motivate people with your tenacity determination and grit. Your humour and ability to find positives is nothing short of inspiring. It's a pleasure knowing you lady 🤗
Oh leaving you and doolsy some hindsight glasses. 👓
Caio babies 🤗

Hi Everyone,
Instead of hindsight glasses, today I might wear my swimming goggles out in the garden or maybe I can find my old Country Fire Service Goggles that actually fit over my prescription glasses.
The reason is we have so much dirt blowing about the place and I want to do a bit of cleaning up in the garden. It has been so windy recently, half the neighbours paddock seems to be on the front porch, there are leaves and bark all over the place so a bit of a clean up is required.
I was doing some reading on the computer yesterday about depression and Borderline Personality Disorder...a couple of my "entertaining" conditions. The following words were in one article:
Being intolerant of experiencing emotional discomfort can interfere with living a fulfilling life and can escalate discomfort.
Looking back on past experiences of my own, I think DB I might need those hindsight glasses to be rose coloured!
Cheers all from Dools

Your wish dear Dools is my command
🕶
😆 neighbours paddock on your porch. Yes it is satisfying doing things in reply to somewhere you mentioned that.
Mr Walrus.. I mean Croixy how are you feeling today I was so thrilled hearing you had a good walk the other day.
I do understand where your independence and pride not being said in a critical sense not wanting a gofer (scooter etc) my Mum had the same dilemma when I suggested a stick when she had very painful which I've often heard and seen it is sciatica.
Another way of seeing it is it's helping you keep your independence. Not trying to sway you I admire and appreciate stubborness can save our lives, it does have positive uses.
Also I was thinking about you saying you'd like to draw. How bout a pencil rubber and paper. You might and Grandy too find helpful reading up on negative space. I had a tinsy bit of tuition with a couple of others at an employment agency and thats where I realised I have natural ability for other drawing though I've also done trees and driftwood with paint once that both are good. Copied Charlie Chaplin and increased the size under basic tuition, he was an art teacher and they all were saying it's really good I didnt think so until I stepped back. Wow!
Also I think a great part of mindfulness and opening the mind to lateral thought is drawing what you see. Also practice and don't doubt yourself that's your expectations are too high.. be gentle with yourself you're learning.. and the fact you want to opens pathways to success.
The satisfaction seeing improvement is soul food.
It's said anyone can sing we just need to learn, I think that applies to at least most things. Part of our intelligence is the ability to learn.
Enjoy your days good people ☺🤗

Dear DB and All~
You are slipping, I could read, understand and appreciate your post without translation from Newzealandishand and without brushing all the emoticons out the way -wow!
You asked what I do, I live in fear of 2am band practices! As for negative space, I knew a few people that might have qualified (none here of course). Seriously I will look it up.
I think if I was ever gong to try drawing I might follow your example and get tuition to start me off at least. I have a friend who occasionally sends me their efforts from Art Class, pretty good, plus being directed how to go would help.
Mrs 😧 I think there is something in your quote about being intolerant of the bad times, I'll have to think about that and how to apply it.

Croixy and all ☺
😂
See how thoughtful we are not to cause you undue anxiety giving youse 🎧 I know...we're good like that. 🔊 might need this Grandy to get better sound happening don't ya think
A pencil in hand or pen is where mine started, doodling esp on the phone. I hope for you, you do because your lifes been and is dedicated to helping people so I'd like to see you have pleasures not that I think you dont have them and clearly you're in a lovely marriage.
The weather turned tonight hopefully for Autumn I've put a blanket on. Woot love it cooler.
Don't think for a second that your tactful amusing emoji complaints are working chum 😜 I must have had an off day 😅
Oh you might be slightly relieved to hear we might have some at least band practice at the cafe, I have no doubt you'll be going there at break neck speed. It's ok I'll reserve an iceberg for you. We were thinking of doing some 🎼Mozart since you and Grandy enjoy that.
I meant to say to Doolsy I liked that about using negative energy, it's been something I've touched on occasionally and fired up some more thought thanks dear lady 🤗
It's too early BP's playing with my sleep but at least I managed the first few hrs without meds but took one before after trying about hr and half to drift off. I fiddle around practicing meditation in these sleepless times. I think the secret is or at least what I'm working on is to feel what gives you pleasure and relaxes you by memory or imagination because it's how we feel that gives us pleasure. I'm also applying this to smoking and diet. Times needed and practice but worthy of effort I feel.
Hope you all have a nice cruisy day and manage several ☺ it's also an endorphin producer.
Teerah good people 🌴

Well Croix, I certainly have to say you have surrounded yourself with a wide and varied group of strange and wonderful people....how do you do it? Like in Alice In Wonderland, curiouser and curiouser!....peculiar happenings and colourful folk emerging one by one.
You just sit there, a salt-encrusted wise old walrus on your rock by the ocean, like a magnet...and they are drawn to you.
Or, when you're in your Noel Coward mood, in your velvet smoking jacket (oops, sorry, the cigarette police will be after me)...i.e. dressing gown by the fire, they still knock on your door for solace and a chat..thanks for being there!

the
I can have a smoking jacket -DB offered me a pipe (which nowadays I'm glad I have no use for)
It's nice to see you here and I've been wondering how you -plus pet- have been faring with your brand spanking new 2nd hand sofa and mindfulness lessons.
Hopefully they will help you not worry about the unknown future and cross mental bridges before you need to.
OK, to get away from OW - the last actor/writer I mentioned here was Kenny Everett, so I'll leave you with a quote from him when acting as Morris Mimer
