Hello all.
It's a good thing today is New Year's Eve -the nursing staff won't have to come around at midnight to wake us up to ask if we are sleeping....
I've looking around the internet, right, for Xmas music, & i've come across a few versions of Auld Lang Syne. One I like very much was recorded by James Taylor. However, I am wondering what other songs we might specifically sing on New Year's Eve or New Year's Day? Other than Auld Lang Syne, are there any other songs that you know of? But also, I wonder just how many versions of Auld Lang Syne there out there on the web, because if that's all there is, we're going to be singing Auld Lang Syne over & over & over again, all night long.... []LRC is gargling cherry & honey yoghurt by the tubfuls, & grinning. (So it's not a pretty sight)].
Hugzies,
mmMekitty

Hello MK and All,
I just listened to the James Taylor version of Auld Lang Syne and I agree, it’s quite lovely. I found myself singing along. You mentioning James Taylor made me think of the Steve Winwood song Back in the High Life again on which James Taylor sings backing vocals. Perhaps that is my New Year song. I had never paid much attention to the lyrics before, I just liked the optimistic music. But I read the lyrics just now and they feel quite appropriate for me in that they are about opening doors that have been closed in life and reconnecting with people again. That is very much where I am at and I’m looking to next year to be an opening of doors and all about connection. So thank you for mentioning James Taylor as it sent me on that helpful tangent. I hope all of us can be back in the high life again, so to speak, finding ourselves where we want to be, doing the things we love and connecting in the ways we want to.
I’m sure there are many other good songs to ring in the New Year too, so you won’t have to do Auld Lang Dyne on repeat all evening while gargling cherry and honey yoghurt 😂 I’m very happy to hear anyone’s suggestions. I’ve always been a big fan of Steve Winwood’s Higher Love as well because it’s such an uplifting song, even though others make fun of me for my 80s music obsession. Long live 80s music!
Hugs,
ER

Hello Deebi and All,
Somehow I missed your last message the other day Deebi and just seeing it now. Great to have you in on the mischief 😊
There are so many inebriated kiwis in Croix’s room now that there is a giant pile of them and the only evidence a walrus is there are two tusks sticking out, decorated with marshmallows.
Croix, I hope you have been doing ok and the New Year brings good things. We hope you are enjoying the entire entourage camping out in your room. Even EfFe is there - the elephant in the room 😂
Take care and salty sea hugs,
ER
