Thanks

Dear Blue~

I hope you, LM and puffballs are all in the pink.

When I became a champ I released there was no way anyone could talk to me except on their own threads, or similar as I do not have a thread myself. I do not read their thread as often as I'd like simply due to volume and my need to keep things in proportion.

As a result I started Croix Talk just as a place to contact me or talk about anything. I'm glad I did, its not always that busy but has lasted and has allowed me many pleasant conversations as well as calls for help.

I'll have a word to Mrs C about Light & Easy and see how it fits in. I'm reasonably well established but can always use new ideas.

Nice to see you here

Croix

Hey Croix,

We all have our troubles, but in the grand scheme of things, we're doing reasonably well at the moment. How about you, Mrs C, and the Menagerie?

That makes sense. To be honest, I'm impressed you keep up so well with my thread, given how you are needed elsewhere - yet there you are when I'm in my worst moments. I only follow a handful of threads and get a bit overwhelmed with just that at times. Kudos to you.

I think it was a great idea to make this thread, allowing for a bit of meandering and light banter between the calls for help. Variety is the spice of life, and all that.

Whatever works for you, Croix. Light and Easy worked for me and gave me ideas, so I'm sharing what I know, for you to do with as you will. It was a good option for a foodie like me who craves different experiences with my meals. Pity they don't have a vegetarian plan. Maybe the market needs that. Hmm...

Puffballs say "skraark". I was going to say they say "tweet", but at that very moment Mr Feisty landed on my chair and gave Sir Pecks a fright - "tweet" is most definitely not what he said, haha.

Dear Blue~

The logical corollary to "skraark" might have involved a damp cloth or other cleaning aids - I hope not.

I'm having a lot of tests for breathing and other matters so choose my hear-a-books with care, they can be so engrossing I'm almost sorry to stop.

The menagerie still complains at the availability of decent staff in the modern era and Mrs C is fine and dandy.

Trying to keep up is not possible, I do skim as much as I'm able but am sure some might think I've simply gone on to other things. I try but all one can do is all one can do. Fortunately there are many others, including champs, who all do wonders

I'm glad I've been there when times have been grim for you.

Croix

Hey Croix,

Cleaning was required, but it is unknown if it was directly relevant to said "skraark" - birds come with frequent need to clean.

Haha, I can see that becoming problematic.

They wouldn't be the Menagerie if they didn't, I'm sure. Glad Mrs C fares well. 🙂

I understand. I'm terrible at skimming, never was good at it, it's all super in depth with me - hence I don't know how anyone succeeds as a Community Champion. Good on you for doing what you do. I think perhaps you do a better job of it than you give yourself credit for.

I have two puffballs upon me now. One is alternating between preening and dozing, the other has been playing with a cord on my jumper. Sir Pecks has recently developed a very specific "skraark" just for telling Mr Feisty to back off. It's quite something.

Dear Blue, MM and all~

It sounds silly but it never occurred to me the puffballs would need following around, my menagerie eihter heads outside or uses a tray if locked inside. So that end of matters did not enter my head.

Funny how they can talk to each other, even if only a warning or distressed "skraark".

I put Janis Joplin on the A song to express your feelings thread yesterday - do you like Leonard Cohen?

MM~ I've mentioned that brand to Mrs C who is conducting investigations:)

Hanna3~I'm waiting on the Library, which could be a day or 6 months, they once went a year with a book on hold (which I selected from their index in the normal manner) only to be then told they had never actually bought it -argh!

Hi Croix,

Medical News today claim Isagenix weight loss products are high in sugar- fructose, which is probably why it tastes so good. It's not supporting it as a long term weight loss option.

I have meal replacement shakes sporadically so it's a good option for me. But if you are having them twice a day, everyday there are lower sugar options on the market.

Hey Croix,

Not silly, if you haven't had birds it isn't the first thing you might think of. Some can be toilet trained, many... not so much. They sure keep me busy cleaning up, Sir Pecks in particular can fire off 10-20 times in an hour.

Yup, they are very talkative. Mr Feisty snaps when he is cranky.

I haven't listened to much Janis, but liked what I heard. Same with Leonard Cohen. I have a cover of Avalanche done by Ghost, on one of my playlists, actually, which of course prompted me to listen to the original. I liked it.

A very belated Hi there Mr Croixy man 🐧 ( cute lil ole penguin our gorveous Grandy awarded you) and to everyone else too 👋

I've been thinking about you often Mr as I do about other people I care about too.

I see Magic 🐒 (Monkey) asked back there how your healths holding which is what I've been concerned about and saw you mentioned having breathing tests.

How are you matey and how's the back and your health in general. Rotten being crook isn't it.

Thanks for asking before about my back. The unbearable pains eased but having troubles of a different style and pain lately but getting there often with strong meds I'd prefer not to take.

In reply to harnessing the mania to achieve and motivate yes thats working and probs with the new beautiful love in my life I'm now type 2 BP still tough but getting there. My thoughts are because it hasn't been done doesn't mean it can't regarding handling the downs. Mammoth work but learning is the key, to most things in life.

I was reading about your weight loss challenges and shakes. Well done sticking them out. I tend not to like that idea because its food we love but have heard success from them. It would be difficult for you not being able to exercise poor man.

I'm very sorry hearing you by the sounds have constant back pain. Poor fella it's hard yakka physical pain as is mental too as we mostly all know of.

So I see you have quite a crowd here so Grandy and I are thinking it might be time to have a Grandeebeez concert 🎧🎸🎼🔔📯🥁🎤🎹 (Various musical instruments including pre tuned extra loud ear muffs 😄 Since we're sharing your Iceberg we'll only charge you half price. I know I know we're too kind.

Hope your lovely families all well and that you're on the improve dear Croixy man

Take very good care of yourself. A pleasure knowing you even if you can't quite manage NZealandese lingo 😅🕊

Dear DB~

I'm afraid I am under a disadvantage as Google Translate does not have an entry for NZese. In addition my computer has few emoji, reducing me to purloining them from other's posts

It is nice to hear from you and I get the impression you are handling the BP rather well all things considered.

Taring pain meds is a pain If you will excuse the expression, and yes I quite understand between the choice of their effects or the distraction and limitations of not taking them.

I'm lucky is I have the world's oldest Jason Recliner, (probably pre WW1) which exactly fits and allows me to be almost pain free permanently. As you can imaging at times one has an overbearing desire to remain in it and not get on with the rest of one's life.

I've had the vinyl replaced twice now over the year, eventually though it cracks and wears away and then I go without it while the upholster engages in umpteen days of more important tasks, such a team bonding meetings in the hotel bar in the next street before fixing it up. Which reminds me it is nearly time to do it again.

I don't try for weight loss, just no gain. I once went on a 3 month live-in detectives course and had to lose an great amout to qualify to go, this being based on some government chat of height vs weight. Not real sophisticated. With the aid of a hospital dietitian I made it and in a fit of unfortunate enthusiasm had my suits altered to fit -they had looked baggy.

After the course -of course- the weight went on again and I had to buy new suits -sigh.

I do exercises, a small walk and am now just starting on aqua therapy again (too painful the first time), so it all goes to keep thngs stable.

As for my health, we'll see. I do know I'm making signification boost to the coffers of the medical industry in the area.

As for my iceberg, no way, trespassers persecuted. Go find your own one, preferably with an igloo you can practice inside. -I'm told igloos have excellent sound deadening qualities.

Mrs C and the menagerie are just fine

Dear Croix...just checking in in case you thought I'd deserted you. That will never happen...I don't leave people...they leave me!! Story of my life. I'll make it as brief as I can (which you know is near impossible for me) don't think told you about my little or rather quite large, incident just before my last game. we were practising and stepping down heavily onto the ground, my ankle gave way and fell completely down with my knee the worst injured. Took my whole weight on my poor little knee.

Only time would heal the agonising pain...my whole leg felt like cottonwool from ankle to hip and so bruised you;d think I was in a car crash!

But hey....we still have the "games" to get through don't we. limping or crutches were not written into the rule book I'm afraid. I had to be agile and on the ball, full of energy and moving moving moving!

It was a hideous experience, swallowing as many pain killers as I could find (as you know it's hard to get a GP to prescribe the ones that actually"work" these days but even she could see I'd never finish the tournament without some relief).

Yes as you may have guessed, I did it and no one knew except my team mates....in fact one onlooker came to me afterwards and said "You were sensational"....little did he know. Anyway just wanted to let you know I've been concentrating on getting rid of the pain and letting myself heal (wish I knew how to heal emotionally from things that have happened, as efficiently as I have seemed to heal physically).......

If you want to lose weight I have a foolproof way....when you're feeling really downcast and hopeless and sad beyond words, your appetite seems to fly out the door and the weight just floats off.....works for me every time.

(did I read something about you doing a "detective course" or similar during your Mr Plod career? I bet you were the sexiest Detective ever...did you wear a long raincoat type thing and one of those hats like in the 50s movies?? Or were you more like the handsome Detective in the Underbelly series Part 1?
