Dear mmMekitty~
Lovely to hear from you, actually it is a bit of a balance in expressing my happiness to see you are still around vs not wanting to place any obligation on you to do something you might find a bit of a trial. Enough to say your presence will always be welcomed.
Those people in hte car, it is a bit of a reach to say anything positive about them. They should not be driving, and apart from any legalities should not be forcing their habits on you, at least understanding why you wanted the window down.
So they deserve it if you got agro, and even went so far as to insist on the window being open. Do you have to travel with them often?
If your appetite was straight away I'd think it was the munchies, but not not days down the track, more you palate is now more susceptible to nice tastes now they are not desensitized by smoke.
Have a sprig of catnip 🌿

Hi Croix,
It's always a pleasure to see you around here.
The incident in the car was decades ago, now. I used to smoke cigarettes back then. I didn't care much either about what they did, until when I noticed how the way they chose to live was having a deleterious effect upon the children. Evidently, the drinking and smoking weed were more important. Eventually, I stopped trying to be friends with them.
I really return here to teach an elder cat, namely Sumo, some new tricks. Believe me, it's highly possible - Sumo is not an old dog!
Lovely tricks I have in mind include:
'Tap dancing', an old punny trick from way back. I'm sure you know it well.
& I must ensure Sumo is a real swingin' cat, (You know, Glen Miller & the like) if your rooms are big enough.
& He's going to learn to be a cat o'nine tails, just you wait & see.
& a cat burglar. Well, the less said about that, the better, eh?
I've taken to wearing a sprig of catnip behind my ear. Fetching, ain't it?
Hugzies all

Dear mmMekitty~
OK, I give up, what is the sprig fetching?
I guess one of the main problems with your ex-friends is not only did they might not have given their kids the attention and care they deserved but also made their lifestyle the 'norm'. After all what else are kids going to know other than having parents as an example.
Sum has looked over my shoulder at the list of thngs you'd like to introduce him to and is rather dubious they might impinge on his dignity, except of course for cat burgling. Sumo is known to sneak onto a table or to the dog's bowl and make of with toothsome morsels.
I'm glad you included Glen Miller When you were talking of a swinging cat, I immediately though of small spaces without enough room to swing a cat.😾 Not something he would lend himself to.
He does however send his regards

Hello MK and Croix,
I’ve heard of weed making some people feel agro. A friend of mine who is very docile and gentle said once after smoking weed that he was getting really angry and irritated by people and things all of a sudden. It certainly affects people in a variety of ways.
I am wondering if Sumo would be amenable to some sort of stately dancing that maintains a dignified air. Or perhaps Sumo would like to be a judge on Dancing With the Stars where he gets to scrutinise others from a position of authority, but doesn’t have to perform a dance spectacle himself. I imagine he may be a tough judge, casting his disapproval on sub par performances with unimpressed feline expressions
Hugs,
ER

Dear MK and ER~
My experience with those smoking weed is probably colored by my occupation at the time but agree that becoming aggressive is certainly one of the reactions I met though they were probably under stress at the time. Others may have been concentrating on inessentials.
Sumo might engage in a pavane allowing observation of others whilst being seen or even in younger days might have let his hair down (as opposed to shedding it:) and tangoed. As far as taps are concerned he expects his staff to turn them on and off for him promptly.

Hi Croix, ER & everyone,
Perish the thought that I would ever suggest or even think about swinging a cat in a small room. What a dreadful idea someone had! Did they not think to measure the room with a tape measure? Besides, we cats don't give identical results every time.
Sumo has dreams, I'm sure. He told me he dreams of twisting & winding himself around & between the legs of the dancers on that show, or any other of that type. & on that show where they dress up in disguise, so people have to guess who's singing. He tells me how shocked they will be when he reveals it was himself singing in the Sumo Wrestler costume.
& about the cat burglaring, can he bring them home?
& on an internet site where I can select songs - all sorts of songs - i have a list which includes a version of 'In the Mood' as performed by clucky chickens. I love In the Mood, & these silly songs I've found as well! [Giggling cat with sore cheeks, runny eyes & nose, & still giggling emoji]
Hugzies,

Hello MK, Croix and All,
Watching cats dream is a fascinating thing. I remember watching Fluffy Cat twitching and moving in her sleep in what seemed like a very active dream.
MK, I love that you watch 'In the Mood' performed by clucky chickens 🤣 Silly things including silly songs are good for the soul.
Hugs,
ER

Dear All~
As you can see from my "Gone Fishing" image I"m going to be away for a couple of weeks. This is quite normal and simply means I'm taking part of my annual leave
Don't get up to mischief - i.e. LEAVE MY ICEBERG ALONE!
Look forward to seeing you all on my return
