Yes, GFC is rolling her fluffy body around with excitement. Having finished their knitting, the stingrays are ready with ceremonial drums. They will tap out a drum roll with their tails for his royal highness and lady C, and accompany you on the flugelhorn. It sounds like we are prepared for their grand entrance!

do you know how hard it is to curl a cat's hair? Would I even attempt this for just anyone?

Braiding my whiskers was the easy bit. Threading the prismatic beads while braiding was harder. But by far, curling my hair, all over, was the hardest, for the beautician. [LRC cleans several claws]

GFC has very long fur. Perhaps she should join LRC in some braiding and hair curling? They will be a pair of stylish felines! Somehow I think Sumo may be resistant to such treatments for which he may consider himself too manly (or catly?).

Yes, ‘mind the gap’ could be good advice for anyone who is visiting the iceberg and is not accustomed to Antarctic waters. If coming via boat they will have to step carefully across onto the iceberg.

The coronation of King Charles III involved many elaborate, impressive costumes. The stingrays have attempted to emulate these garments of wonder. Looking forward to what seems will be the coronation of King Croix III of the Walrus Empire.

Oh good greif! I go away for a week and you all employ your devious minds to creating utter mayhem, my iceberg will never be the same - sigh

Th only good idea I can see is the chess game:

Colored  icecubes=the board

prawns=pawns

Pesky penguins=bishops

Inebriated kiwis= knights (they always walk 2 paces forwards and one sideways anyway)

Clams=castles

Emperor penguin=King (a bit of a comedown)

Curly LRK=queen (with lots of handshaking and royal appearances, ribbon cutting (using lobsters) etc.

All the rest of you can be the audience and I'll be busy banishing any piece that gets taken:)

Hey Croix, you are back! 

For Igloo Chess, I never worked out where opposing armies initially line up - but of-course it is impossible to get the inebriated kiwis to line up anyway, so maybe we simply scatter our pieces at ramdom, or are you a strategical player?

Playing Igloo Chess, I don't think Big Blue could have computated all the possible games which would be possible from each initial arrangement of pieces. Maybe today's computers might have that much computing power. Using cloud storage, I would think so.

What about the extra wide, comfy throne for yourself & Mrs C to share? Do you like that?

Or the matching sets of flipper slippers? 

What about the seafood banquet - in this weather. I'm sure it was still fresh...

Dear All~

I don't think Big Blue could ever work out what mischief you will be up to next, cloud or no cloud, and yes Mrs C and I will enjoy being together with matching flipper slippers. As for the inebriated kiwis they fall asleep so often keeping them in place should be duck soup. (if puzzled Google "duck soup meaning")

If LRC grins does that make her the Cheshire cat?

Talk of a flugelhorn reminds me of a movie called "Brassed Off" about a brass band make up of coal miners during the Thatcher years. Sad as the mine was closed for political not economic reasons.  The most recent member played the flugelhorn and played the lead in what they called "Concerto de Orange-juice" (Concierto de Aranjuez).

The band, which won the National Brass Band Finals in the Albert Hall in the film in real life was the Grimethorpe Colliery Band, members of the closed Grimethorp Coal mine.

Film and real life were very close.

What a band! I would have loved to see them. But I was thinking of the Beatles 'Uncle Albert'.

I know I've thought I could use more support to help with getting out into the community & to help with keeping my place reasonably clean & tidy, but according to the OT, who has written up a report for NDIS, I need something like twice as much as I had been thinking. I don't want someone around here, in my flat, for several hours every day... I wasn't expecting that.

Without seeming to, the OT seems to have been scrutinising me like my (ex-)step-mother - with a highly critical eye, & some very high standards.

Hello MK, Croix and All,

I found the flipper slippers a most delightful idea. However, being an eagle ray they won't quite fit me if I wanted a pair myself. Instead, I will need to knit a special narrow tail slipper for my tail. I'm already out of my natural habitat in Antarctic waters, so it might help to keep me a bit warmer. That, and causing mayhem on Croix's iceberg, will help to keep me warm. Hee hee! And thank you MK for getting the ball rolling with the fantastic reformation of the iceberg with multicoloured ice blocks. I'm wondering if a disco ball in the interior of the igloo would go with the internal multi-colour experience?

Croix, I remember seeing Brassed Off quite a few years ago at the cinema. I remember it being a good film. I have a sense of connection with coal mining in my family history. My great grandfather, great grandmother and other Welsh relatives worked in the coal mines in Wales. They apparently sent women down because of their smaller size. I am descended from Cornish miners as well.

Goodnight everyone and sleep well. I had three coffees today so not sure how well I'll sleep, but that might be an advantage so far south down here in the southern ocean, in that I might get to see the Aurora Australis!
