Oh grandy, so lovely to see you here.

The fireplace is so enchanting. It oozes cozieness. ?I hope you feel the warmth of it, just like sunlight on your skin. (when the weather is kinder).

DB has been by your thread, & Hanna's too, & even mine, with care & understanding. We are figuring this new set-up out. DB is sure to come by here soon.

I've been into the word games I usually play, too. & int the BB Cafe as well.

If you can find the Jump To list, & the link 'Introduce Yourself', there you can also find the Discussions from Sophie_M & Oone made by Smallwolf, where people are  talking about the problems & some tips for this new-look forum.

As well, I'm sure people will be willing to help wherever someone asks a question. 😺

🐧👋

hi Croix and all here.

sorry i haven't been on the forums in general much, let alone this thread. before the update i was just browsing without commenting or anything. but now i find these new forums very hard to get used to. maybe in time.

Croix (and others), have you been watching any British sitcoms? is anyone a fan of Heartbeat, which has been on 7TWO for 2 weeks now, every Wednesday night at 7:30pm? i'm up to series 7, nearly series 8, of it. i have them all on DVD or watch them online, but i love the show.

Hi tealflowers, lovely to see you again. I've been hoping you would find your way here, & you have! 😸& with a new name. Teal is amongst my favourte colours. I admit I have several favourite colours, & sometimes I just can't pick on, or I will favour one or two for a while, but never not like any of my favourites. Some are sets as well, like magenta & teal. I like these colours together.

As for Heartbeat, I seem to recall seeing some of that show a long time ago on ABC. I like the opening music about how the singer feels being in love, sort of surprised, I think, when the lyric says, "Heartbeat, why do you skip when my baby passes me?", lines like that. & the music is sweet & bouncy.

Unless I retune all my TV channels, I don't see any of 7's anymore. They disappeared one day, & I haven't bothered retuning. It would also mean I have to tediously remove shopping & sport & many radio channels again, & I can't remember how I did it before.

Warmly,

💖💖💖

Dear Tealflowers and all~

My apologies, I'd forgotten your new name and it had no significance to me when scrolling though umpteen pages of posts.

So yes, I do indeed enjoy Heartbeat. Mainly the first sets of series series until Nick goes ot Canada

Derek Fowlds does an excellent sergeant of the period - even down ot being fixated on poor old Claude - who it has to be admitted was a bit of a minor rogue.

Interesting in another way for me, Nick transferring as a constable from the hectic East End environment of the Met to be a rural cop

Then later on Sgt Oscar Blaketon, making the huge change form the boss cop to civilian life. Real problems in real life.

I like the music too. Buffalo Springfield, Little Eva and the Stones just to name a few.

Hello tealflowers & Croix,

Thinking there are 'real life' scenarios in Heartbeat makes me wish I had enjoyed it more & might have, if I'd known.

It has taken me hours, but now I recall, "Heartbeat, why do you skip when my baby kisses me?"

(Never thought I'd want to use this one!)😽um'wah, um'wah😽

Dear 😼Um'wah and all~

Let me emphasize the show did try to deal with some of the problems found in real life of the time (contraception for instance). Often matters were shown as procedurally correct (like the missing bike on the station inventory) however it basically used rose-tinted glasses and of course everything came out OK in 50 minutes -such as PC Alfred Ventress' gambling problem:)
