I meant to mention, my hearing is also just shy of mono. tinnitus & minimal hearing in my right ear, & the sound of an identical tone will seem at least a semitone higher in my right ear. when I can hear it.... it was awful at first, but now I guess I'm getting used to it, because it's not so bad now. Orchestra is still difficult, simply knowing I can't hear as if in stereo or as they are positioned on a stage bothers me. My singing voice was going before the hearing went. I've been trying to sing in a lower register, but it does not compensate for the range I lost. Now I want to be content to make a noise.

So, watch out if I ever lose my anxiety about consciously using a microphone! You might welcome the sardines into your ears after all!

Dear All~

I will be off-line for a couple of weeks. This is nothing to worry about, just my normal habit of having a rest several times a year.

I look forward to seeing you all again then (and expect my iceberg to be in apple-pie order, all swept out, no piles of bottles or cans left behind, and no inebriated kiwis snoozing in corners)
