Dear Croix
So...what is Mr Croix doing for Christmas?
I watched Andre Rieu in a 'recent' Australian Christmas performance in Sydney and he is magnificent. His peers dont approve as they see him as 'commercialising' classical music......Maybe a case of the green eyed monster happening there
If Andre Rieu makes people smile its a beautiful way to do so 🙂

Dear Paul~
I agree, his productions are spectacular to the eye , and at the same time he picks out the most popular light classical music possible. If he makes a buck, well OK.
I've not seen the performance you mentioned. I purchase a fair number of second hand DVDs at a local shop and if I find a copy I'll take your remediation and buy it.
As for what I'm doing, I'm not sure as yet (leaving things till the last minute as usual:)

Dear Croix
I will post more info re his performance in Sydney...It was on the 'Arts' channel on Foxtel a few nights ago...
You are the same as myself Mr Croix with leaving Christmas plans to the last minute as I prefer to avoid high expectations and thus dont have too far to 'fall' if there is an unforeseen issue
This is always such a relaxing thread to post in 🙂

Dear Paue
Nice ot hear from you. Hope your Christmas was of great enjoyment for you.
Mr Rieu is fantastical prominent, and has made great steps in making an older style of music very popular again.
I suspect he also has marketing down pat too -not that this is a bad thing, with live performances, simulcasts, then DVDs and CDs, then finally Blue-ray as time goes on.
I sometimes see them at my local second-hand shop and purchase what I can.

Dear Mr Croix
My Christmas was there yet not really enjoyable with food poisoning after eating a very well known national brand of vacuumed packed butterfly chicken in lemon and garlic....about a week prior and including Christmas day.....ugh! Better now which is all that matters!
I hope you had a relaxing and enjoyable Christmas Day Mr Croix
I appreciate your opinion re Andre Rieu Croix...thankyou!
I know this is an old soundtrack (1969)....I just wanted your thoughts on the classical music used by Stanley Kubrick in '2001 a Space Odyssey'? The film is super long....and advanced for its time...Foxtel are screening it every few days in Ultra HD 4K (including Intermission!) probably because its economically viable for them to do so I think?
