Hi everyone. I'm Geoff and have been a dedicated Volunteer on the forums for 13 years. I am proud to have stopped some of the stigmas that are associated with mental health as well as doing my best to help others too

Before my health went south I was a builder in all aspects of home construction and renovation. If you don't have a handyman around I hope I can offer you some tips that may be of help. I have had many years of experience in home renovation and will do my best to help you out if you are stuck and need some advice

I hope my experience may be of help to the people on Beyond Blue and make their life a little bit better. Even if you need help with the most basic painting job or putting up a shelf I can help there too with some tips

I will do my best to get back to anyone that has a question when I can as this is social yet important thread

Hi RX, apparently this virus doesn't like heat as I've read, and don't see any reason why you can't work outdoors, the distance recommended is 1.5 m and 10 m is way further than this.

Yeah it sounds logical enough doesn't it , it's so strange though that you tend to feel you shouldn't even be out there don't you , but really , at the moment anyway l couldn't really see why not.

Hey rx, Geoff and everyone!

Yeah you're all good to be out doing stuff on your place rx - it's more about staying away from people (other than your immediate household) and avoiding surfaces that others have touched i think. It's good to be out in the fresh air. Pump some music, or listen to the birds.

It's kind of a perfect time to get some things done at home.

Hey Sleepy i thought of another really cool indoor plant that looks after itself in poor light, is a Pony Tail palm, the one with the bulbous trunk and wispy fronds. Low maintenance but full of character.

Yeah l mean really for many renovating it must dream time really.lf they've got the money or still getting a decent portion of their usual wage as many will be , they could end up with mths and mths of time off they'd never ever usually have ,they'd normally be squashing reno's into wkends and what little spare time they'd usually have, so really it's perfect.

Hi Geoff, yes everyone likes doing that with bubble wrap, there's something very satisfying about it isn't there? You made me chuckle!

Looks like I'm stuck in this refrigerator of a house for some time with this virus now - hot as Hades in the summer and you were right, it's going to be absolutely freezing in the winter - but the covid19 is making it hard to move anywhere much at all!!! Still waiting on the blood test results for lead as two doctors have gone home sick from the practice... I think they're exhausted. Hope you're keeping OK Geoff, happy bubble-wrap bursting...!

Hi RX, well yes, if you have the extra money and the materials at home then, bingo, a great chance to complete anything and Birdy the Pony Tail Palm is another great choice.
