My morning walk story in relation to mammal natural gender Equality. Written in the mist of glory. Zen the entire 1.5hr journey. A gift in return........
-------------------

The lion and the eagle

My walk this morning with Amber.

It started at 6am the temperature was cool yet amazingly comfortable. The fog was nicely floating along the ground. I felt like an eagle soring high on the clouds. While soring high on clouds I saw a golden lion (Amber).

My walk drew me to water which had a light layer of mist shimmering across the surface. The black Swans had 2 signet with mother and father ahead. Know not of anything except nature. Ducks galore floating like prince's and Princess's of the natural water world. In the mist I spotted a mysterious creature swimming like a mammal in the mist of glory. I assume it was a rare water rat.

I continue my walk and find webs of spiders all throughout the high grass with dew aloft sparkling like small diamonds in the presence of the glorious sun.

I continue my walk to stumble upon a lofty kangaroo. Bounding across the landscape Jumping clean over a country fence with easy of comfort. Naturally living in the environment long before our time. With not a worry in the world.

The sun has been hammering the water line. Visible to the eye's judgment. Reducing by meters in mere weeks. The sun is like a red beak of a beautifully elegant black Swan. Harsh enough to make sure that the new year grass dehydrated out of sight.

Turtles float under water and pierce there tiny head breaking the surface every so gently for air.

The loin when warm dips in the waters to cool and drink. Not natural to the environment, still has no harmful effects. The human walked calmly with gum staff in hand.

Now the insect world awakes.

Equality sublime naturally. Where gender have one reason. The Eagle with wings stretched views their entire bliss.

Harmony. Reference to Animals.

Peace

New questions,

Does sexual choice classifying help with Equality?

Should sexual preference be seen as a societal issues?

Or does classing people create a wedge that creates tension?

I'll leave it open........

Greetings fellow philosophers,

New topic.............Ancient Tao Te Ching philosophy on life.

"Tao Te Ching

Chapter One

Tao (The Way) that can be spoken of is not the Constant Tao’

The name that can be named is not a Constant Name.

Nameless, is the origin of Heaven and Earth;

The named is the Mother of all things.

Thus, the constant void enables one to observe the true essence.

The constant being enables one to see the outward manifestations.

These two come paired from the same origin.

But when the essence is manifested,

It has a different name.

This same origin is called “The Profound Mystery.”

As profound the mystery as It can be,

It is the Gate to the essence of all life."

During my spiritual retreat I have been finding my true self by doing soul searching. I have read some interesting chapters out of the bible. I have started a "who am I" philosophical application of thought.

I have decided to share some of my findings and research that I feel may be helpful for reconnecting with ones true nature.

The Tao Te Ching is one of my favorite inspirational reads of all time. It is so profoundly written that it is relatable to thought today.

"The Tao Te Ching (or Daodejing, in pinyin) is a classic Chinese Taoist text dating from at least the fourth century BC. According to tradition it has its origins even earlier, around the sixth century BC." - google.

This story and meaning are very similar to the beliefs written in many religious/beliefs historical data.

Can anyone relate to chapter one?

I feel this philosophical story is best read backwards to be able to understand chapter one. - my honest opinion.

I'll leave it open............

Peace

Matt

Hey Matt and others reading;

You've written up quite a storm in the last few posts, however I'm finding them somewhat overwhelming.

Eastern philosophy can be complicated when set out so sporadically. So maybe sticking to one subject might serve your purpose better. What I mean to say, is that one category such as gender equality (as previously) leaves the door open for 'layman' perspective. Kaz makes a good argument for marriage equality, but no-one has replied yet; so I'd like to.

The word 'Equality' is deceptive; how can gender's be equal? Everything in the Universe is 'different' for a reason. We're supposed to be 'complementary' not equal...yin and yang.

Light/dark, left/right, up/down etc. Now, one could make a point of saying male/female and they'd be physically correct re procreation, however, you've used the terms; sexual choice and preference. Homosexuality is not a choice, it's an inherent quality within some individuals from birth. Further more, it's found in the animal kingdom without argument.

The problem begins when governments and religion only focus on 'sexuality' instead of the whole person. This stupid ideology is based on age old religious fundamentalism, which our government is supposed to set aside when creating policy; we're not a religious state.

When 2 same sex people love and complement each other as individuals, marriage policy then tells us discrimination is allowed; how so? We're allowed to live together, have sex together, (which isn't against the law now, at least in this country) have children together and are equal as individuals in all legal situations. But the moment marriage is mentioned, everything changes.

Yes, this is a political argument, but it's also a human rights issue. This isn't about gender equality, it's about identity and our rights as voting community members. Sex and politics don't mix.

That's my 2 cents worth.

Hi Sara,

Thanks for your perspective. You are absolutely correct. I don't mind going back to readjust my veiw.

Choice was incorrect. Preference too. Also right at the same time.

How do you feel about the naming of such "rights" being a wedge that tends to separate veiws?

I truly appreciate yours and anyone's veiw on this and any topic for that instance.

Peace

I must be back to my retreat

Matt.

Hey Mattie;

Firstly, I'm concerned about your reference to my comments re homosexuality not being a preference or choice as 'Also right at the same time'. Could you elaborate on this please?

'How do you feel about the naming of such "rights" being a wedge that tends to separate views?'

I'm assuming you mean Human Rights?

When I worked as a correctional officer, I did a report on the difference between an inmate's Rights vs Privileges. This took networking with co-workers as well as inmates to get a more grounded and broad overview. What came out of my report, was that privileges are earned, and rights are there to support life equal to what society says is acceptable.

Modern philosophy associated with our humanity is based on our right to life; that, we're valuable just for being born. So, anything that promotes life could be interpreted as our right. If I'm born female, Aboriginal or homosexual, what depicts my right to life?

It might be seen as a privilege to be born into a wealthy family, and in some countries as a male. What about a country with natural resources such as water? However, if that water is only available to the wealthy or armies for instance, is that not an injustice?

Ah...there's that word; 'justice'. What is just? What is right vs wrong? That's what you're getting at isn't it? That's the wedge isn't it Matt...interpretation.

The door's open Matt...go for it!

Hi Sara,

I'm a little concerned you feel as though I was personally attacking you. I humbly apologize if you felt that way. It seems I feel that way now too. Do you think you could apologize?

My conclusion was "words" are the issue. The "right" being a word. That you had an issue with.

Feel free to philosophies with yourself as I will be ignoring you because of your blanant disrespect for me as an individual an the open mindness of this philosophical thread.

Peace

Matt.

Hi everyone, I don't like stepping in here but this thread really isn't going anywhere helpful or productive, and it's not really in the spirit of the "chill out" space that threads in the BB Social Zone are supposed to be about. We're going to close this one off, I'm afraid.

Given the sensitive nature of some of these topics, that text can easily be misread, and that we're all prone to a bit of anxiety here on the BB forums, perhaps these discussions are best had on another forum?

Have a great day everyone.
